We all know until we actually win something nobody but us is going to believe we can.

Yesterday on ESPN they interviewed Michael Irvin, when asked if we were a legit contender in the NFC he said "nah. It's Arizona you know, I have a hard time believing in them because they're Arizona, they just haven't proven it you know."

Of course right after that he compared Obama getting elected to African American jury members finding OJ Simpson not guilty of murder, saying he hadn't seen so many black people this happy, since the outcome of the OJ trial. so consider the source.

To correct you, he was NOT comparing the two, but, instead condemning the fact that black people WERE cheering that when two people were left dead.

I don't want to sidetrack the thread but the word compare does not mean that someone is saying 2 things are the same or similar. It's taking 2 things and examining them to note similarities or differences.

That's what Irvin was doing, he was comparing the last time in his opinion that black Americans were celebrating like this and in his opinion it was after OJ was acquitted. Yes he did seem to be saying he didn't think that was a good thing(as I mentioned he said I mean 2 people died), but he was absolutely comparing the two. I think his point was this is how far we've come we went from celebrating OJ being acquitted (a bad thing to most) to now Obama winning.

That's what made it weird and both Mike's on the show agreed that while they respected Mike's opinion they could not really really relate to it because they're white. It was really apparent from the look on Greeny's face when he was listening to Irvin(he was on the phone not in the studio) that he had no idea where Irvin was going when he brought up OJ and he was actually a bit concerned that this was going to go badly. It didn't, but it was just a very odd way of making the point of how happy he was about the election result.

My point being, irvin's earlier comment on the cards was similarly weird, he didn't seem at all interested in the current season he simply said he had no faith in Arizona because they are Arizona. That's like saying SF will win the Superbowl because well they've won it several times before.

The way I look at is the beat down we have been putting on teams is season killers. For as unhealthy as the Cowboys were they were still leading the Power rankings and Romo was playing well. We beat them up and they haven't been the same since.

Same with Buffalo. Miami fans and players said we are the best team they have seen all year. St Louis had 3 good games in a row against winning teams and we took them to the woodshed like it was out of style.

Philadelphians are bitter. Even with the Phillies they can't get over the sour grapes mentality. And I actually like the city. (what with cheesesteaks,my girlfriend being from there, and loving "Its always Sunny...".

Im thinking we get our butt kicked (I still like the Eagles for the Super Bowl and see Westbrook having 200 yards reciveing on us) but Im hoping we go in there and beat on them a little bit after reading this.

Awesome show....

I Doubt Very Much....

that the average Eagles' fan could name even (10) of our players. BUT we're the same ol' Cardinals?? Hey, KEEP BELIEVING THAT!! GO CARDS!!
