The dude can flat out play. Ellington is a stud but misses a lot of time and it is nice to see a VERY capable guy replace him rather than the other garbage we had over the years.

DJ may become this but I like him as a situational guy right now too and I dont think he runs low enough to get between the tackles the way CJ does.

It depends on what the cost is. I don't think he's necessarily a starter for the next two years, but if you could get him for $1.5M per year for the next two with half of that guaranteed, that's probably a steal.

He'd be dumb to take that deal, though.

At worst, he's a good 3rd round back who doesn't take anything off the table.

I like him. At 30 years of age, he will not be in demand. If Cards want him, I'm sure they can get him for a very friendly contract after the season.

100%

I wouldnt over pay at all. In his presser he said he came here because he wants to play for a contender. I am assuming he would play for similar numbers that you posted to remain a cardinal. Otherwise, he can leave.

It's nice to finally have a workhorse RB you can give 20 carries a game and not have to worry about his health week to week. I agree that his age will scare off a lot of teams so continuing to play for a contender (us) could appeal to him to take less to stay.

Way too early for that... Ide rather start to pass the torch to the new kid by end of the year or start of next... Rather then committ to 2 years to a guy who's going to be 31 years old at the start of next season

he doesnt have to be the starter, BA will always play the best guy but this Trio of RB is good for us. Id rather this than let CJ go and cross our fingers with Juke and DJ.

Nice bump =)

Just imagine if we didn't have CJ the last three games... He def proved me wrong. Can run between the tackles and grinds out really tough yards. The acceleration at the second level is awesome, he is super patient and it will be great for Duke and DJ to learn behind him. Duke will still need a couple of games to get back into the swing of things,

he's been terrific but his reputation is such that he's a perfect guy to have on a 1 year deal.

Enjoy him while we can. He will be looking for big bucks next year

We have DJ and AE in on deck to move on in
He claims he wants to play for a winner. If be OK with 2-3 mill a year. Small cap hit, big impact. He played well last year and didn't get big bucks

He's not going to get big bucks next year. He'll be 31 next year and teams are not going to give a lot of money to a 30+ RB. There are too many young cheap RB's that come out of nowhere for a team to give much to an older RB.

From what I've seen so far, I want him on the team for the foreseeable future in whatever role suits the team's best interest.

I'd love to re-sign him, but we'll see what his price is.

I think people underestimate how good this dude still is. It's not just his plant and cut ability, or his speed, it's that he can hit holes and get the tough yards. In the playoffs those holes tend to shrink and the hits get harder. Ellington is awesome in a change of pace role or flexed out at receiver but the only RB we have that can grind all game and move the chains is Chris Johnson.

+1

He is showing us what a real quality RB can do. He still has it and watching him run so hard and knowing when to hit the hole is enjoyable.

At the right number I would bring him back on another 1-2 year deal. Nothing longer, but I think he might be looking for more money.
