Ryland has been doing well in place of Prater. Assuming he continues to do so, do you think he retains the gig once Prater is released from IR?

You have to activate him to the starting roster or lose him. We just lost Ridder to the Raiders. What are the rules for practice squad? If another team triess to claim him, we have to option to block it?
Exactly this 100%. I don't trust him over 40 let alone 50 yards tbhLast year with New England he was very inaccurate past 40 yards. With only 7 FG attempts this year the sample size is too small to make any decision. I don't see us releasing Prater or keeping two kickers. https://www.footballdb.com/players/chad-ryland-rylanch01
*57 yarderKeep him. He's got the ice water in his veins and hit a 50 yarder today. Young kicker with no fear is a decade and a half of solid play from an important position. Prater is 40. Love him, but he's 40.
Sorry Mr. Uecker, I said RIP but I just read he's about to celebrate his 91st birthday.Prater is a great kicker even at his age now and I have great respect for him, but when he kicks the ball it looks like a knuckleball, curveball or it's "just a little bit outside" RIP Bob Uecker.
But Ryland kicks it down the middle with authority and I believe he's earned the right to be the next cardinal kicker IMO
Just keep him on IR for the year. Or release him if that's what he wants. Either way he's getting paid and can ride off into the sunset with his retirement money. Or try and catch on with another team. The kid has earned a spot. Don’t know what to with prater.
If they cut him on ir he even gets an injury settlementJust keep him on IR for the year. Or release him if that's what he wants. Either way he's getting paid and can ride off into the sunset with his retirement money. Or try and catch on with another team.
