People don't like signing older RBs, but the contracts have gotten so cheap that they're by far the most efficient use of the money. Conner's getting 3/4s of what Cole Kmet gets.

When the Giants didn't resign Saquon do you know who they were able to sign with the money saved? Devin Singletary and Drew Lock, that's it.

Yup. He probably will not live up to this deal in terms of production but that is fine for the next two years IMO. Benson will hopefully continue to eat into his snaps and be ready to take over by 2026.

If our roster looked different that 9.5 mil might matter more but it doesn’t so nothing to sweat about.

James Conner will turn 30 in May, but he has not slowed down any and his value to Arizona has been clearly demonstrated. Arizona is 5-1 in games when Conner has reached 100 scrimmage yards, and 1-4 in games when he has not.

I would think it would be beneficial for Cardinals to have an out in 2nd year without a huge cap hit.
