As a teenager growing up in rural Illinois I used to love a fresh snowfall. I would grab my .410 over & under & take my Bassett hound & just go on a walk about in the woods behind our house. Maybe shoot a few squirrels for dinner. Growing up with an abusive step dad I loved the solitude of the woods. For some reason the cold never bothered me then. Also 35° in Illinois doesn't feel as cold as 35° in Az. The lower humidity has something to do with it I believe.

I grew up in a small mostly rural area near where the Ohio and Mississippi rivers meet. My family moved from there when I was about nine to Phoenix because there wasn't much work to be found. My dad's family were farmers.
