Anyone want a free DVD of the game??

Mine just arrived. Thanks so very much. :)

Eagles fined for hits on Warner

Nah. It was a beat too long after the play for that. It was an obvious penalty, and I was pretty sure it would be fined. I think the $5K was about right there. Football play, just late. The Demps thing... well, if the $7.5K was right for Demps, then by comparison, Bunkley shouldn't have...

    Yelling At Dockett

Honestly, was so relieved when he picked it off that while it occurred to me to think that he should just get down, I actually relaxed for the first time all game even while I was thinking that he should get down. I also realized right then that I was absolutely exhausted from yelling at the TV...

Pit Post-Gazette not giving Cardinals their due?

I don't see it as a slight at all. Fitz is the team's best player. It's not a surprise or a slam on anybody else for them to talk about that.

Pit Post-Gazette not giving Cardinals their due?

That's a slam? Only if you do some pretty serious mental gymnastics.

    As an aside: Leinart

I doubt he goes all Eugene Robinson on you.

So this just dawned on me.. This will basically be a Steelers home game.

Ah, the salad days of Mark Malone. And then Bubby Brister. For growing up to that and still becoming a hardcore Steeler fan, I salute you.

    Kurt Warner, War Hero, HOF

They are not calling Kurt Warner a war hero. "War Hero" is, for some inexplicable reason, a tag applied to some of their columns, none of which have to do with war heroes. The other two with that tag are about Rickey Henderson and online shopping. I have no idea why it's a category at all...

Kurt Warner is better the Peyton Manning...

As far as Faulk goes, while I don't think we could get much consensus on Warner being better than Manning, I'm pretty sure we can on his being better than Jim Harbaugh. And I loved Jim Harbaugh.

    Bulger vs. McNabb

I actually think that Bulger is/was far more suited to running a Philly-style West Coast style offense than he was to running Martz's offense or even the much more conservative Linehan approach that he had a ton of success with in 2006. I'm betting that if he's put in that system and given an...

That's what I thought he was talking about too. Confused the crap out of me.

Warner could be Super Bowl career passing leader

No Marshall Faulk TDs in those games, actually. The Rams run game was completely shut down in the 1999 postseason. Faulk had 21 yards against the Vikings, 44 yards against the Bucs, and only 17 yards in the Super Bowl that year. As usual, though, he did very well as a receiver in the games he...

Per VP of NFL Officiating: NO Pass Interference on Hood, Ref for Superbowl Announced

One of the ironies here is that fans are calling for replay review when replay wouldn't have really helped, since nobody seems to be able to agree on what they see. It's disappointing that in an NFC Championship game we only had two camera angles on the play, apparently. An opposite field...

Warner could be Super Bowl career passing leader

He did get a rushing TD in SB36, shocking as that may be.

Have you ever seen a team make the SB....

At the very least, the Rams didn't disgrace that game. They were right in it into the 4th quarter.

Kurt Warner is better the Peyton Manning...

That's... pretty startling even to me, but it's true. Even the losses, it's true in the SB to the Pats... they came back and tied it. And the situation didn't come up in the loss to the Saints in the 2000 season because Az Hakim fumbled. Wow.

Kurt Warner is better the Peyton Manning...

I dunno that I totally agree with you there, but Brady's another example of what I'm talking about. Brady, at Michigan, played behind Brian Griese, and then battled Drew Henson for the starting job. Looking back, it's obvious to all and sundry that Tom Brady is a much better QB than Brian...

Kurt Warner is better the Peyton Manning...

Yes, because the evaluation of QBs before, during and after college is an exact science, so the reason Warner didn't get much of a chance in college was that he just didn't have the talent. That only came to him in his mid-twenties as a result of stocking grocery shelves, in much the same way...

Kurt Warner is better the Peyton Manning...

There's age to be considered on that question, so it's not a fair one. Manning's obviously going to have a far better career than Warner, and that puts him further up the charts when you're talking about greatest ever. But he's also had better opportunities. Do the 1994 draft over again, with...

    Super Bowl MVP?

It'd be Fitz. I'd love for Warner to get it though, because it'd settle the HOF debate for good and all. Even for Peter King, probably. Well, maybe. Possibly. There's a slim chance, anyway.
