    11-8-87: Bucs @ Cards

I wouldn't go that far because they had already lost to Miami and SF ended up blowing Miami out in the Super Bowl. I think we would have hung with them but the 9ers were just too damned tough that year.

1984 St. Louis Cardinals Highlight Film

Oh, the potential of this team only to fall flat in 1985. 1984 would be our last winning season until 1998.

Cardinals sign TE Maxx Williams on a 1 year deal

Saw this on his wiki page: So, right up Keim's alley.

By that game it was already a forgone conclusion the Cards were moving. I remember no one really caring as the baseball Cards were all the rage having just played in the World Series. The strike that year didn't help matters much.

Oh really. Name me a Keim 1st round pick that has made any sort of an impact. I'll wait. And I don't give a flip what "analysis" you dredge up. Anyone with 2 eyes know that Keim is HORRIBLE at drafting.

The closest so far has been Bucannon who was forced to play out of position. He was adaqate at best but he's gone now too. Funny how there are still more Rod Graves 1st round picks making a positive impact on this team than Keim 1st round picks.

    49ers @ Cards: 11-6-88

Montana was still there. ;) Seriously though, this was almost 1 year to the day from the comeback over the Bucs the previous year.

    49ers @ Cards: 11-6-88

Another great comeback over the soon to be champion 49ers. Cards erase 23 point deficit in the 2nd half to win 24-23 over Montana & Co.

    11-8-87: Bucs @ Cards

Here is that game in it's entirety. Watch the end. I don't get Hanifan's thinking. Lomax hits Pittman for about 8 yards and there's like 17 seconds left as they approach the LOS and instead of doing a snap and throw out of bounds, which they had time to do, he scrambles the kicking team onto the...

Actually, we lost only 4 games in 1976 but 2 of those losses were to Washington which is why we failed to make the playoffs. We also didn't beat Dallas like that. Was 21-17. Our biggest win that year was the Packers 29-0. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That was one of the worst calls I ever saw. Washington would have been at a 3rd and long had that bogus call not been made. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

He wasn't a boom either. He was adequate at best. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well, Arians wasn't here when Keim traded 3 draft picks to move up in the first round last year only to trade that draft pick for a low 2nd rounder this year. I swear that if Rosen wins 1 more game than Murray Keim will have to be shot into the sun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Another failed 1st round pick by Keim. I know no one is ever 100% on picks but Keim has been 100% wrong in the first round. That's hard to do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I always imagine if we had the '84 defense in the mid 70's. Or the '98 defense for that matter.

And we made the playoffs and got curb stomped by the Packers and F'ing Lynn Dickey. It was the last time we make the playoffs until 1998.

If we're being real, Coryell only had moderate success in the NFL. Took his teams to the playoffs 6 times only winning 3 games. He was the Bruce Arians of his day. Also, the OP is incorrect. Coryell was hired in '73 and also went 4-9-1. But I digress. People wonder why Coryell isn't in the hall...

    11-8-87: Bucs @ Cards

Portland St actually, coached by the originator of the Run & Shoot, Mouse Davis. Lomax once threw 7 TD passes in the first quarter against Delaware St. en route to beating them 105-0. Fun Fact though about Delaware St. That is the alma mater of one Rodney Gunter. And for the record, the best...

What killed the '84 team was O'Donahue. Cost them at least 2 games and I'm not even talking about the Washington game(the bullcrap call on EJ Junior cost us that game in the end).

Actually the '84 defense was pretty decent. Top 10 in yards that season.

He was injury prone in general and at the most inopportune times too.
