    Sarver deserves the worst possible outcome. This summer the Suns will sign-and-trade Ayton to the lakers for Horton-Tucker and a 2028 pick. Then I can go back to ignoring the playoffs for a decade as Ayton wins 3 championships in LA.

    Ayton and Bridges were 12th and 14th in win shares in the entire league last year. They were ahead of Trae Young, Luka Doncic and Booker. They were the best defensive players in a team that made the finals. They should have been re-signed long ago.

    I would argue that the market was set when Ayton showed he could be the second or third best player on a Finals team. I don't care about his deficiencies anymore, he's a winning player. I think its idiotic that they have made it this close to the deadline without signing him to an extension.

    You're right, he's a backup guard who is replacing last year's back up guards. I don't that makes the team any better. Shamet's 3pt percentage has been declining since he entered the NBA and his advanced stats are not very good.

    He got playoff minutes on a team with an injured all-star backcourt. I don't think that is too meaningful. Maybe his better than Galloway, but I'd say the improvement is marginal.

    I "think" I posted "statistics" in this thread showing Galloway and Shamet to be very similar players.
