OT: JJ Watt raises $ for Harvey victims

$18 M so far. Damn! Has anyone ever wrapped up the Walter Payton Man of the Year award before the season starts? To put in context, the Cowboys held a telethon and "only" raised $2.3 million (with Jerruh responsible for $1 million of that). Watt's efforts are off the charts!

Cards Add 8 to Practice Squad

Gotta think Toner with how much time they spent developing at multiple positions, but who knows? He did not have a great last couple of games.

    NFL Roster cuts tracker

No harm no foul. He was "red-shirting" this year either way. Now he's on practice squad and still in the organization.

Cards Add 8 to Practice Squad

Cole Toner done in AZ? Swing OL are so valuable.

    OT: Detroit Lions (1st opponent)

He looked in significant pain. Tried to stand, crumpled and grabbed the area and didn't try to move again. Hard to see anytime but especially in preseason.

    ARI 20 OAK 10 Thoughts + 53 Update

Golden has always reminded me of the offensive version of Aaron Francisco. This year, though, he looks like he is pushing his game to the next level, fighting for his life.

    OT: Detroit Lions (1st opponent)

Their leading pass rusher from last year, Hyder, just went down with a serious-looking knee injury. Carted off field against Colts.

    Cards strike out at QB

Paraphrasing Warren Buffett: " There are no called strikes in (the draft)". Meaning, you can only strike out if you swing and miss.

    Cards strike out at QB

Remember though, they signed Stanton as a starter and then went and got Palmer. His loyalty does have limits.

    Cards strike out at QB

Assuming he is though, I think your scenario is very plausible, unless a veteran FA is signed.

    Cards strike out at QB

That's assuming BA is still here.

    Cards strike out at QB

Pats may make Garoppolo a restricted FA, but they WILL NOT franchise him and pay him like a top 3 QB in the League. In that case, Cards can give up picks to get him. I believe Kizer, because that comment doesn't make him look good. He knew next year's class is too good to compete, so he...

    Cards strike out at QB

Kizer said he entered this draft early to avoid next year's crop of QBs. Garoppolo and Glennon will have high potential of being available, as will Alex Smith and prob others. Cards will be fine at QB.

    Cards strike out at QB

Most those teams you listed have no designs on the playoffs next year. They can afford to invest in a project QB. Cards want players to help win now.

2017 4th round pick is Dorian Johnson G

That's more like it. I said "contribute immediately or push to start".

2017 4th round pick is Dorian Johnson G

I just figured Stout's account got hacked.

2017 4th round pick is Dorian Johnson G

I think all 4 guys will be able to contribute from day one and maybe even compete for starting spots. Very solid top end of the draft. CB is our biggest glaring issue but maybe that gets addressed by a Keim-time move in August,

Zane Gonzalez in 3rd round to Cards. Book it. :runs away:

I dunno about Keim giving up the 3rd round

    Arizona is on the clock!

And we get a ton of comp picks next year to offset that 4th rounder. Worth it!!!!

    Day 2 / Round 2

Gambo is beating that drum on the radio. "Something is going on." "They are doing something." And FWIW, he was onto Reddick for weeks now, so he seems to be plugged in this year. Dave Burns was doing the math on when the Cards should pick and Gambo said, "It'll be sooner than that." Get...
