First Picks Who Would Make Me Happy

I agree with most of this but the wild card is how things fall in the draft. A player at an already stocked position falls to 20 & BASK just love the guy. Now you have decsion to make. Do you take that position of need, take the guy you just love, or trade down. That's what makes this so fun.

Ka'Deem Carey (warning: unabashed homerism inside)

He can run but he sure needs a lot of work on his blocking. As a Sun Devil fan I'm sure you saw Bradford send him head over heels while Carey was attempting to pass block. In the NFL a back needs to be able to at least slow up rushers.

A Few Thoughts on the Off-Season

Does anybody think they may look at Dockett moving on and replace him with Shaughnessy? I believe his normal position has been defensive end before he got here.

OK, now take what we are this year and add J.Cooper, S.Acho & A.Okafor...

What about Matt Shaughnessy? I know he doesn't get the pub that some others do but his versatility has been a key to that front seven. He can put his hand on the ground and rush but he can also drop back. For a man his size he can really chase the ball. I think having an outside...

Note to Self: Bradley Sowell is Not Very Good

This is so true. I used to hear Coach Whiz talk about having one unblocked rusher and that the Quarterback was supposed to take care of that guy. It was his responsibility to see the rusher and know where to throw the ball. Now I don't know if that is just a bad scheme, or if the quarterback...

    Mariota, no thank you

I can't believe than Sean Mannion's name has not come up. Gets into his drops quick, has a quick release, a cannon for an arm, reads defenses, and doesn't have as much help as some of the other QBs that have been named. I know he won't be one of the first few guys selected, and he isn't the...

You Keep Players Who Show Up

I agree. Some of these comments remind me of the same things posters were saying about Andre Roberts in his rookie year. Patience, Patience.

What the 2013 Draft Teaches Us About Keim

This is what I think too. They identified where the talent was in the draft and where the draft was weak. Where the draft was weak like quarterback and cornerback they filled mostly with free agents. I think even in some areas they thought they could fill through the draft they gave free...

    Arians on ESPN

That's why he moved to Florida, to get away from Baton Rouge. I think he was staying there with PP's family.

Post Draft: Good, Bad & Ugly

I heard today on the radio that the reason Okafer fell was that their were some injury concerns. Sometimes that can just come down to how your medical people evaluate the players health or chance of further injury.

Cards did it to me again...

They did do all that, and maybe more important, they didn't break the bank to do it. Think about the foresight to sign most of these guys to 1 year make good contracts, and then draft their replacements. That does two things. It ensures the free agent they signed will have to play their...

Cards 6th round pick #187: RB Andre Ellington

I like one of the things I read about him on his break down on NFL.com. Shows patience following pulling guards and fullbacks. Hey if you're going to draft pulling guards you might as well draft a running back that has running behind pulling guards as one of his strengths.

Arthur Brown... Can he play SILB next to DWash?

I think this is right on the mark with Brown.

    Bring on Te'o

This has got to be a heated discussion so take this for what it's worth but I heard a guest on a sports radio station today and the talk turned to MT and why he dropped. I can't remember who the guy was. He said that teams that were interested in MT in doing their due diligence went and talked...

    DD interview

Did anyone hear the Darnell Docket interview with Bickley and MJ? Man did that guy seem happy with the new defense and coaching staff. Said he was tired of recieving blows and putting up with trash talking from other teams as he and his defensive linemen couldn't do what they do best and...

    Best available for tomorrow...

I can't believe Jenkins isn't getting more love. I know it's not a huge need but the guy is a mountain of a man who is unmovable. His weakness is using his hands to keep guys off. With the new teachers we have on the DLine and the good things I'm hearing about the methods the guys are...

    Jonathon Cooper

MJ said Warmack may have a shoulder injury that could be a factor. He also said that Cooper reminds some of Alan Faneca with his ability to pull.

Arizona Cardinals sport new look in 1st full-speed practice

Housler had 45 catches last year, good for 20th among tight ends. And this is in an offense that didn't value the tight end, and with terrible quarterback play. This year he has Palmer whos top receiver was a tight end with 79 catches. I think it's resonable to think Housler could have a...

    Josh Cribbs

Heard Mary Kay Cabot on the Bob Kemp show today. He is having sports writers on from cities that draft ahead of the Cardinals and she's from the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He happened to ask her about Cribbs signing with the Cardinals when he's healthy and if he had any gas left in the tank...

Update 4/10/13: Cardinals have no interest in JaMarcus Russell

I heard we are also looking at Rich Gannon, Ken Stabler & Daryle Lamonica. Something about cornering the market on ex-Raider quarterbacks.

Off the Radar Draftees who you think will be huge stars

Jake Knott LB Iowa State Little off the radar with a midseason shoulder injury. Won about every honor you could in the Big 12. A lot of people think he is the better player between him and team mate AJ Klein. Is an extremely smart player. Always in position to make plays. Made a lot of...

    LaCava on Xtra

Depends on what you call hands on. While he may have been hands on teaching technique in practices we don't know how hands on he was as far as developing gameplans or blocking schemes. For what it's worth I heard Drew Stanton say in an interview that if he had questions about blocking...

    ESPN Insiders' UFA RB Ratings

I kind of agree with you Mitch. He reminds me of Edgerrin James when he was with the Cardinals, not going to break a long run but always moving forward instead of sideways. Not great but a chain mover. Better than what we've had.
