    Over-hyped guys you don’t like

I seem to recall he had some behavioral /off-the-field issues. Not sure if Pitts shares those negatives.

    #1 Pick

You're right about the 4 QBs, but there figures to be a corresponding dearth of Top 16 offensive linemen, EDG rushers etc. Every time I mock the Top 16, I run out of elite players at around 14.

    #1 Pick

Pick #16 is likely to be a no-man's land with no elite talent left when we pick and little if any reason for teams to want to trade up to #16. Tough challenge for SK either way.

    Crap

I like our unis - especially the ones with the black jerseys. Not a burning priority, though.

MadCards 2021 Cardinal Mock Draft V1.0

Reading the tea-leaves: various Cardinal moves seem to be zeroing in on our not being tempted to draft the wrong guy so we can grab a quality CB with our #16. pick. Where things get dicey are if we think the top 3 corners are likely to be gone when we pick. Do we try to move up a couple of...

    15 thoughts - draft

Due to COVID adjustments (i,e, no Combine etc.) GM's will be more inclined to "wing it", common knowledge will be scarcer and insider info will be harder to come by. Expect to see the word "who?" after more picks than usual. The COVID factor is why so many mocks vary widely (kind of like...

    Cardinals prospect visits tracker

BPA boards vary from team to team Team needs boards also vary How teams project how other teams stack their boards also vary. Best thing a team can do is (a) rank BPA's, (b) tweak those ratings according to position needs and fit and (c) pick the highest available dude on that list. Hottest...

Trade Up, Or Back, Or Stand Pat?

Lots of unknowns - How do we profile an available prospect where we pick? (Does he fit a glaring need? Is he long on potential but doesn't necessarily fill a need? Iffy or can't miss?) Same questions applied to prospects available later on iif we traded down. Athleticism vs. skill-set...

    Rodney Hudson is a Cardinal

    Tom Banks was pretty. good,

    I think

I just don't see us drafting for need when we're thin on picks. At most, we'll employ a BPA approach, with need one of several factors.

    Cards sign QB Colt McCoy

All Pro name. Hope his skill set lives up to it.

    Round 1

Harry - This strategy has all the earmarks of "draft for need." Would the above strategy mean a change in drafting approach (away from BPA)! Or have Steve Keim and Michael B been blowing smoke all these years. Care to discuss BPA vs. need and Cardinals' approach to drafting?

Currently, What do you Fear most regarding the Cards and the Upcoming Season?

My fear - That injuries eat into our lack of deph at a key position, leaving us with a glaring weakness.

    Poll: RB Situation

Goal, as I see it is - To wind up with a bruiser plus backup and a pass catcher (Edmonds) plus backup. That would give us: 220 lb smashmouth type 220 lb backup bruiser Edmonds Backup to Edmonds as a pass-catching RB. We'd let opposing matchups determine who we use/when. If we draaft or sign...

    49ers QB odds of success

Objective isn't "to develop QB's" - it's to win Super Bowls (although growing a QB is typically a key part of the equation). For all we know, Lynch could turn around and trade the pick again.

Keim press conference is coming up on youtube

Generally agreee -only I think we'll draft our TE at #2 and a RB at #4. But here's another option: (a) favorable medical report on Alford and we sign Richard Sherman opposite Alford. While we'd still be thin depthwise, this would open the way towards not being tempted to desperately draft for need.

    What Remains to Be Done

Isn't Richard Sherman still in play?
  18. JeffGollin

    Trades.

Rather than play "woulda coulda" with past drafts and trades...I'm still stuck on why the Bidwills let a perfctly good team of coaches (under Arians) get away. All those guys eventually did was win a Super Bowl. Was the chemistry wrong? Was either the Arians culture or the Bidwill culture...

Really hope Cardinals sign QB Alex Smith!

    Translation - Poor fit.

    New TV deal in 2023

I too come from a marketing background and trained to view things "from the customer on up." Channel has program. Audience watches program. Audience pays. That's how it should work (Keep it simple). When content-providers say "I've got a program but you can't watch it unless you pay for an...

    What’s left? RB and CB

I'm confusied. I thought Sherman was available, but someone posted that he was signed by NO. Which is it?

Bickley Assessment Seems Sadly on Target

The only QB's I've felt comfortable with (since the late 1940's) were Carson Palmer and Kurt Warner. They both seemed to make the right reads, make good decisions and execute with razor-accuracy. While KM has shown flashes, he hasn't met those standards consistently. Until he does, we don't...
