Reality: Graves gets A+ for all rookies signed and no veteran hold-outs!

In the spirit of Chris Rock, he's supposed to have all rookies signed and no veteran hold-outs. Graves gets a C instead of his usual F.

    Time to trade Reynolds

Reynolds looks a lot better this year than Quentin did last year, and we know how dumping Quentin worked out. It would be asinine to trade Reynolds, except for a very young and very good pitcher who we could control for the next 3-4 years.

    Bob Dylan

Bob Dylan was before my time (I was born in 1970) and I somehow missed him during my rather short-lived grass smoking/Dead loving/Trustafarian phase almost 20 years ago, but I bought "Blood on the Tracks" at a truck stop on a road trip a few months ago and have been listening to him almost...

    Summer Suns Update!!!

I've watched a grand total of about ten minutes and I saw a left handed hook and a right handed hook and pretty good ball handling, and via the boxscore he did sink about 8 of 10 free throws. He looked a lot more like Brad Miller than Jake Voskhul, but maybe I'm just an optimist.

Lue believes he will sign with Suns

or he never intended to sign with Miami, and he spread misinformation trying to get the Suns to offer more than the minimum.

    Maggette Watch

If Golden State, Philadelphia and the Clippers exhaust their cap space on others, we'll be the only team (I think) that can give him a contract above the MLE, via the $8 million Kurt Thomas trade exception. It's too bad we're already above the luxury tax limit because of bad contracts (i.e...

    Maggette to Suns for Barbosa,,,

When Maggette and Brand opted out, they got far enough under the cap to sign Davis. The Clippers still own Maggette's Bird rights, and will until they either renounce or he signs with somebody else. I suspect they'll get a deal in place with Brand but not sign him, and see if they can move...

    The Thin Blue Line

I saw this film in the early 90's, a documentary from Errol Morris, and was reminded of it by a thread about capital punishment in P&R. It's about the murder of a Dallas police officer, and the trial of a man accused of the murder. I just saw it again last night, and it's a great film. If you...

    Maggette to Suns for Barbosa,,,

I'd love to have Maggette and wouldn't think twice about giving up Barbosa for him, but with the Clippers trying to re-sign Elton Brand and add Baron Davis, they have to cut ties with Maggette to stay far enough under the cap to make legitimate offers to both. We could use the Kurt Thomas trade...

    Suns/Portland

When D'Antoni was the coach and nobody really gave a damn about playing defense, Rodriguez might have been useful running the offense when Nash sat. Now that defense is more than just lip service (hopefully), I suspect he'd be as useless to us as he is for Portland.

    How about Barbosa for Felton?

If Barbosa is traded for Felton, it'd pretty much be an admission that the "Goran Dragic is our pg of the future" talk over the past few days is bs. I've thought a pretty fair trade in terms of talent and reasonable contract is Barbosa for Udonis Haslem. With Beasley (and Marion playing some...

Bill Simmons, ESPN Page 2 is Don Imus x 10

Oh, lighten up. Much of the time, White-on-Black "slurs" (i.e. Geraldine Ferraro) are so often overblown and misconstrued and significant primarily as fodder for race-baiters. It would be a shame if such oversensitivity put a stop to all attempts at humor (and constructive dialogue) that...

    Most hated actor?

Quentin Tarantino, because his bad acting interrupted one of the best movies of all time (Pulp Fiction), with about ten excruciatingly overdramatic minutes of himself as Bonnie's husband. Not necessarily the worst acting of all time, but not far from it, and completely unnecessary, entirely out...

    Sarver's draft history

Threads like this drive me nuts. Sarver has had very little to do with the stupid moves the Suns have made since he bought the team (except not signing Joe Johnson the first summer Sarver had the team). Sarver establishes payroll limits, like almost all owners. The Spurs dumped Luis Scola to...

the Official DRAFT Brandon Rush Thread

I couldn't agree more with the OP. I liked Rush since before his injury, and always wondered why Chad Ford and the other draft pundits have always had him being a borderline first round pick. I see some Michael Finley in him. We could already use some size on the wings, and after next year...

    LB and Diaw for???

I'm sure some think this would be the about the stupidest thing the Suns could do, but I've thought maybe they should try to buy low on Zach Randolph. I would imagine New York would gladly take Diaw for him, since they were willing to take Bobby Simmons and Dan Gadzuric at the trade deadline...

    LB and Diaw for???

Larry Hughes. I'd imagine the Bulls might be interested in that deal. Hughes has played pretty well for them, and was great when he played on running teams early in his career, so I don't think he's as awful as he was in Cleveland. But more to the point, his contract expires in the summer...

    Put Amare On The Block....

For the first time, I doubt Amare reaching superstar status, and so I think trading him should be considered, but we should only move him if we get much deeper, much better defensively, and save money so we can stop dumping assets to get under the luxury tax. Amare and Banks for Duhon, Nocioni...

    What's With Boris and Amare

I don't think it's Boris playing passive that causes the problem. I watched them playing together in one of the Kings games, and they were practically bumping into each other near the high post. They tried to play a three man game on one side of the floor with Nash, and it went nowhere. I...

    NBA Waivers?

Beno Udrih got waived by Minnesota after the Spurs traded him to the Wolves in a cost-cutting move. I've thought Udrih would be great here and I'd love to see the Suns offer him a contract, but I bet he'll go to a team looking for a point guard (Cleveland, Miami, maybe Atlanta).
