    Marie (1985)

Interesting. I love films from the 80s. Too bad I can't find this dvd on netflix.

    Peppermint

I love a good vigilante flick, but this story was weak. Unfortunately Garner didn't have much to work with. It would have been fun to watch more of the training and plotting rather than spending so much time on the generic bad guys. It was cool to see Judith from TWD though. Ha!

    Mission: Impossible - Fallout (aka M:I 6)

I almost didn't find this thread in my search because the title has the colon after "Impossible" rather than "Mission". Yeah, this was the best action film I've seen in a while. I need to rewatch #1 again, as it's been a looong time, but I think this was my favorite MI film.

She's a bit of a quack, but I like to devour pretty much anything related to health and fitness whether I agree with it or not.

    Your Name

Neat story. I was unimpressed at the beginning, but it grew on me as the plot developed. Definitely a must watch if you like Japanese anime.

    Movie-A-Day #1: The Shawshank Redemption

Wow, that was cool. Rewatched this one for the first time in 15 years. Every scene is fantastic, but particularly the scene when the warden throws the rock at the poster is one of the greatest of all time.

    Stephen King's The Stand

I guess not having to worry about standards is an upside. I didn’t think about that.

    Stephen King's The Stand

So I believe this ended up being a tv series rather than movies. It says it will be on CBS All Access. Does that mean it will only be available on a paid streaming service and not regular tv? That would be a bummer. I'm not paying for a another streaming service when I already pay for cbs via...

If NO Major Sports: Favorite Fringe Sport to Watch &/or Participate In

Nice! I love watching and racing triathlons. Every year I race IM Arizona IMAZ 70.3 and 4 or 5 smaller local races. My daughter is also 13 and races the Deuces Wild in Show Low with me every year and also a local sprint occasionally. Surprised running is not on the list. I love watching track...

    Home for the Holidays (1995)

When her teenage daughter opts out of Thanksgiving, single mother Claudia Larson (Holly Hunter) travels alone to her childhood home for an explosive holiday dinner with her dysfunctional family. Claudia quickly tires of her parents, her long-suffering sister (Cynthia Stevenson), her snobby...

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

We went to Universal Studios back in March, actually the weekend before everything shut down. I'm not really an HP fan, but I must admit that the harry potter world is pretty cool. My daughter hasn't seen any of the films, so we decided to watch them all. I watched them years ago with my boys...

    Granite Mountain Hotshots Memorial Hike

Did this hike Sunday. 7 miles total with 1500ft of climbing. Very nice hike. Every few hundred meters they honor a fallen hotshot with a plaque and a couple personal paragraphs about them. Almost shed a few tears when I made it to the memorial.

    Pieces of April

Rewatched this one. Decent little film with a solid cast. There just aren't that many good thanksgiving films.

    Toy Story 4

Decent, but I kinda get bored with most animated films. Loved the GPS scene though. Actually lol'd.

    Uncut Gems

Yeah, and a bit exhausting. I'm not sure what all the oscar buzz was about, perhaps because Sandler actually acted in this one. Still a solid film though. Kevin Garnett was excellent. I didn't know this until now, but he was also an extra in the '94 film Blue Chips along with Jim Caviezel.

    Up in Smoke (1978)

My mom had one of those albums when I was a kid. The "Dave's not here" skit was absolutely hilarious.

    Up in Smoke (1978)

Up in Smoke is a 1978 American buddy comedy film directed by Lou Adler and starring Cheech Marin, Tommy Chong, Edie Adams, Strother Martin, Stacy Keach, and Tom Skerritt. It is Cheech & Chong's first feature-length film. Cheech & Chong had been a counterculture comedy team for about ten years...

Good Movie News 4 The Holidays

Interesting. I miss having HBO; I just can't justify paying $15/mo. Perhaps this will push me over the tipping point. Watching WW on christmas day would be pretty awesome.

    Onward

I do not understand how this movie has a 7.4 rating at IMDB and an 88/94 rating at RT. I thought it was barely watchable until the end, which was decent.

    The Hangover

Rewatched this 10 years later...still hilarious from start to finish, including the credits. I don't think there's been a raunchy comedy released since 2009 that is better. Won't bother rewatching the sequels though.

    Mud

This was outstanding. Low key, but there's never a wasted scene. Kids were impressive.

Endure: Mind, Body, and the Curiously Elastic Limits of Human Performance This is fantastic.

    Movie-A-Day #78: GoodFellas

Rewatched this one. Wow, still brilliant. One of my rare 10s on IMDB. Absolutely. Both are epic films. Ha! This is one of my favorite scenes in film history: The "How am I funny?" scene is based on something that actually happened to Joe Pesci. While working in a restaurant, a young Pesci...

    Sorry to Bother You

I had no idea what it was about before watching it, which made it seem even crazier.

The Fate of the Furious (Fast & Furious 8)

The Rock and Statham definitely stole the show. These last few films have been crazy.
