And by the way in regards to the TE coverage last season, I would give some of that credit to Deone as well. I would guess he spent at least as much time covering TEs as Jefferson did, if not more.

Kind of argumentative aren't we? You told me I didn't watch Tony jefferson's play last season, earlier today.

    53 Post-Draft Guess

In regards to Jefferson, I like him as a player. My only point was that last year we pretty much had 2 SS (Jefferson and DJ) and no FS. While Jefferson might be decent in coverage for a SS he is a liability in coverage as a FS.

I disagree, he's a box safety and nothing more. He was a liability in coverage. Don't have the stats to back it up, and only an opinion. I loved his effort but glad we didn't resign him for anywhere close to the ridiculous contract Baltimore gave him.

    53 Post-Draft Guess

I do agree that this is probably our biggest area of need, but the situation last year was very different as well. Mathieu was hurt or hobbled almost the entire year, Williams and Miller were both rookies, and Jefferson and Swearinger are both liabilities in coverage. Another year under the...

    53 Post-Draft Guess

Either Baker or Mathieu will be the nickel CB and the other most likely will play FS. So you have Peterson and 9 other guys fighting for the #2 CB position. Situation could be worse and my gut tells me we will add a vet CB at some point to compete as well.

1 dimensional cardinals - lays eggs

Our offense was built around the passing game for a long time. DJ's emergence has obviously altered the front office's philosophies. The draft is a perfect example. Our new rosters will be built around an athletic and versatile defense, and a strong running game centered around David Johnson...

Cardinals looking into acquiring Blaine Gabbert?

I hope it's at least a 3 yr deal so he can have time to learn and develop in our system. I really hope we make this happen and dump Stanton. I like Gabbert's potential and think under Arians, Moore, and Leftwich there's a chance he could turn his career around.

Gunter is my "surprise" player this year. His impact last year was disappointing but I expect him to play a much greater role this year. Another player in curious to watch is Scooby Wright. My expectation isn't very high but I still love his passion and fire.

I don't think it's actually occurred yet. Curious of the outcome for sure. Maybe next week?

2017 1st round pick is Haason Reddick

57 would actually be perfect for him. It just looks fast. ;)

2017 1st round pick is Haason Reddick

Numbers can change after cuts. I could see Reddick wearing 52 or 59 once the regular season rolls around.

    Cinquo De Maio Thoughts

Two offensive lineman a RB and a WR drafted. What others needs are you referring to? We picked more offensive players then defensive.

    Cinquo De Maio Thoughts

Awesome write up on the UDFA. Enjoyed reading your observations, makes me want to watch some tape on them myself. In regards to the Peppers hype, isn't that always the case? Our Cards rarely get the media's attention. But no matter, I love the Budda pick, I see some TY in him but I also see a...

    BASK: Genius or Idiots?

I love the Reddick pick, Minter has been a huge liability the last few years. We've added speed, youth and play making ability to a position we haven't had in a few years. Dansby is getting old and I love that he has already talked to Riddick about mentoring him. A huge bonus to having Los on...

    BASK: Genius or Idiots?

Gabbert would have been the number 1 qb in this class. Haha

Cardinals looking into acquiring Blaine Gabbert?

How about a list of QB's who were drafted in the 1st round in the last ten years and aren't even in the league now? Gabbert has potential and that's all I'm saying. We have nothing to lose. There is no science to finding a QB and at this point we're best off exploring all options.

Cardinals looking into acquiring Blaine Gabbert?

Well enough talent to make him a five star recruit and a top ten pick in the NFL draft. He has a strong arm and is mobile. He's played for some garbage teams, and several coaches. Right now we have a veteran QB willing to mentor and probably the best QB coaches in the game with no one to...

Cardinals looking into acquiring Blaine Gabbert?

Personally I like the idea of kicking the tires on Gabbert. He was a five star recruit coming out of high school, was a top 10 draft pick after three yrs at Missouri, and he's only 27 years old. He's had some injuries and played for some bad teams, but his talent is obvious. Who knows what a...

    2018 NFL Draft Class: QB

The only reason why I even care about having a young QB is our coaching staff (Moore and Arians) to go along with Carson would be such a huge advantage for a young player. Would be interesting to see them mold a young qb for a year or two. Maybe the Broncos will release Chad Kelly before the...
