Does Marty Shottenheimer not getting fired point to SD passing on the quarterback?

    How about this: San Diego trades it's number 1 (1st overall) for Arizona's number 1 (3rd overall), number 3 (64th overall-first pick of 3rd round), and 2005 number 2.

    Larry Fitgerlad Turning Pro

Pro Football Talk reports today that Fitzgerald plans on turning pro by Wednesday. He hasn't even made preparations to start classes for the spring semester at Pitt. It is to the benefit of the Cards if Fitzgerald enters the draft, because the Raiders will likely look to draft him at number 2...

    Draft Thought

To make the trade work the two teams would have to work out compensation first and then Henson would have to agree to a contract. If he doesn't sign before the draft he goes back in and the Texans lose any windfall for the pick. It is in the best interest of Houston to trade his rights...

    Draft Thought

I know Dennis Green does not like to trade down in the draft, but this might be a good possibility: The Cardinals first (3rd overall) to Texans for thier first (10th overall) and the draft rights to QB Drew Henson. It's a win-win situation for both teams. The Cardinals get a highly valued QB...

    Drew Henson

I wonder if IMG represents Drew Henson? That's the group that handles Green's contract issues. I think the Cards should work out Henson (get permission from Texans) and if they like him try to trade for his rights prior to the draft.

    Larry Fitzgerald Pittsburgh

I believe Larry Fitzgerald WR Pittsburgh's dad worked for Green in Minnesota. There is a good chance that Green likes Fitzgerald and might consider him at number 3 in the draft. I think without a doubt the Cardinals will draft the best player available. That has been Green's MO as a coach/gm...

    Green's coaching staff

Anyone have any idea the coaches Green wants for his staff? It seems like all of his former coaches have moved up in the ranks or to other teams. Who would he want as OC and DC?

    Draft Questions

Teams with tied records pick in an alternate fashion after the first round. As a matter of fact, the Cardinals will have the opening pick of round two (pick 33) because Oakland doesn't have their second round choice (traded to Houston draft day 2003). Houston then used the pick to select Tony...

    McAlister staying in Baltimore

Chris McAlister stated he wants to retire a Raven. It looks like he and Baltimore are trying to work out a long term agreement. Scratch his name off of your free agent wish list.

    Redskins Interviews

Washington spent 12 hours interviewing Fassel and he is clearly their leading coaching candidate. They flew in Green for an interview (San Francisco) this afternoon that will last through Saturday. Clearly, Snyder will get one of the two as his coach. The Redskins are proactive, aggressive...

    Trade Up for Manning

Maybe the Chargers would settle for something like the Vick trade of two years ago: number 1 (1st) for number 1 (3rd), number 2, number 2 2005, and McCown or Clement.

    Trade Up for Manning

I have a feeling the Cardinals want to add Eli Manning. He could help draw fans to Arizona and be their cornerstone as they enter a new stadium in a couple of years. What would it take to get Manning? Here is a possiblity: San Diego's number 1 (1st) overall to Arizona for their number 1 (3rd...

    Pasquarelli Says Cards Hire Green

ESPN writer Len Pasquarelli writes at ESPN.com that the Cardinals will hire Green as coach. I don't know how accurate his work is but he states Fassel will go to the Bears and Crennel to the Giants.

    Competition from Redskins

The Washington Post reports in Wednesday's addition that Dennis Green and Jim Fassel head the wish list of Daniel Snyder to become their next coach. He also likes Ray Rhodes, but knowing how Snyder likes "name" people it looks like he has set his sights on Green and Fassel. What the Cardinals...

    Clayton Says This About Green

Dennis Green has a better record than Fassel and might be a slight better hire. I think Graves is very interested in Green and wants to see how the Bidwill family feels about him as their coach. I really think this coaching hire is a two-man race between Fassel and Green. Competition for...

    Dennis Green

If the Cardinals are fortunate enough to hire Dennis Green as coach then Arizona will take an offensive playmaker at number 3 in the first round. As Vikings coach he had a tendency to hire offensive playmakers number one (i.e.-Culpepper, Moss, Bennett, and Robert Smith).

    Worst Case Scenario

With the Hail Mary win today I just had this sinking feeling. Arizona decides that McCown is the QB for next season, McGinnis gets to stay another year, and guess what the Cardinals take another damn defensive lineman number one! If this all takes place I might have to find another team to...

The NFL Should Make an Example out of Joe Horn

This problem can be ended if the NFL and the teams would simply suspended the player(s) involved in this crap with a one game suspension and loss of a game check. That could be at least a $50,000 or greater dollar fine. Take away their privilege to play the games and make their dough.

    Reeves Could Be the Guy

Dan Reeves might be the coach the Cardinals pursue. He has vast coaching experience, he won't ask for the moon in salary, he can put together a solid staff, he knows how to run a draft (de-facto gm while in Denver) and he is a down to earth person. Look at the past Cardinal coaches: McGinnis...

Pick one-10-12 million spent on a great coaching staff or 10-12 mill. on free agents?

I choose coach. I've seen how great coaching staffs (leaders) can make a difference with modest talent. A Bill Parcells, Dick Vermeil, Jeff Fisher, Andy Reid, or Bill Belichik lead staff would have found a way with this Cardinal team to have won at least eight games.

    Current Cardinal Assistants

I just read an article that stated whoever the Cardinals hire as head coach will be required to keep some of McGinnis' staff. Apparently, they have another year left on their contracts.
