    I know Gallardo had an amazing 2011. Cahill had an amazing 2010. It's not clear to me why you would want to acquire Gallardo and trade Cahill. They seem to be the same essential pitcher to me at this point, with Gallardo only being marginally better statistically.l

    Would they take both? I haven't paid attention to the numbers this year to know that. I think they're already pitching greyshirts to some of their earlier recruits, so they're obviously counting on closing on some guys they didn't expect to be in on.

    My understanding is ASU has the opposite opinion: They would prefer Frison over Barrett, primarily because Frison has more versatility. I don't think ASU pushed Barrett for a commitment, so they have some back-tracking to do on that, now.

    Alex Anderson to Texas. I think Kenyon Frison is their best hope left to get some interior beef. He's a good one. YMMV where you hear he's going, but ASU is generally expected to be at the top of that list.

    I've never wanted the D-Backs to emulate the Dodgers. I'll be curious to see how they fare in their return to Yankee-type spending. The past 20 years have been very unkind to them as they loaded up on fat and fizzled. I would MUCH prefer the D-Backs emulate whatever it is the Giants keep doing...

    Had pretty much zero effect. Winning/losing bowl games doesn't matter. Being in them does. Winning gets you in the door of better recruits. Relationship gets the commitment. Losing a bowl game wasn't going to impact the latter.

    I don't think ASU really wanted Delp. He wants to be a DT and originally went with ASU because ASU was the only school willing to let him start out there. I think ASU changed their minds on that and it's why Delp bailed. It was tepid relationship from the start. ASU has better OGs on there card...

    Just like they changed the defense to accommodate Sutton and Bradford, they will change the defense to accommodate available talent. They'll figure a scheme out that will give the defense a chance to make some stops. There will be holes to be sure, but there will be no lack of attention.

    When he got there he was a rising star and had his moments. This year he'd been relegated to first guy off the bench ... still very good, but clearly demoted with his form here and there. He was very upset about it.
