Great stand at the end. Thank god there are so many Packer fans that I got to watch on bigscreen at teh bar across the street!

Dexter made the play but the whole defense deserves Kudos.

And again despite the pick, Blake moved the team the whole day and made the plays he needed to at critical times. When he gets some healthy WR's and BJ gets a bit more experience this offense can really roll.

I do wish we were playing Shipp more though.

SF just lost so we're in a 3 way tie for 2nd behind Seattle if they hold on against the Rams.

seen some things today we have not in the past - a drive to score before the half, ball control and a stand by the D with game on the line. Shows some character, especially after last week. OOOHAWWW!

Russ even that Int wasnt Blakes fault. That was al on Anquan who should have caught even though he was hit hard. It was another lucky bounce for the other team! Solid performance all the way around!

Our last drive redzone play calling was brilliant. Something I can't believe I'm saying about the Cardinals. I'm on the official Sullivan for OC of the year bandwagon!

Uh, HUH? Until those last few plays, our defense looked like they were going to HAND the game to GB. In fact, our defense played pretty poorly in stretches.

The defense only gave up one TD. Give credit where credit is due.

Shipp looks so much better running the ball than Emmitt IMO. Just irritates me even more.

In my mind, that was the play that won the game for us, even more than the INT at the end. Tanner just rocked Green on that play.

The TD pass was such a great call that if Hodgins had fallen down, he still had Jones(I think) open in the back of the endzone as well.

I guess in fairness to Emmitt it was the constant pounding with him that made that TD work because they all took the fake on the play action.

I suppose if we were to find a flaw with Boldin so far it's been hanging on when he gets hit, but on the punt and the pick last week he simply got crunched. Today was more of a part on him part on Blake part on the defenders.

Shipp looks good, but Emmitt has to be the best of all time at finding his way through traffic. He did that all game. He would sort of get lost in the pile and then the next thing you knew he was squirting through for 9 or 10 yards.

Plus he is an awesome blocker. Better than Marcel at this point.

Yes, Jones was open, and I thought that was where he was going to throw it. I'm still adjusting to watching Blake. When the rush gets close and I'm used to the QB pulling down the ball and jitterbugging, he just takes a little step up, or a little step to the side and makes the throw. And, I sometimes am actually surprised where he throws the ball because he sees the whole field! What a concept!

As for Smith, I know his stats weren't great, but I thought he played bigger than his stats. Plus, a couple of his better runs were erased by penalties. He got the crowd and the team energized many times during the game. That 3rd and 2 run that got the first down on the 30 on the last TD drive was sheer guts and determination.

He probably watched the same game I watched. I admit that Emmitt looks good! He has ran the ball very well making some plays where none is there! He is experinced and still hard nosed and that is all great for us.

But when Shipp runs the ball you can see the energy he has and the burst he has that Emmitt just doesnt have anymore. He is quicker and faster. He is more bruising and in most cases like Emmitt he will make posotive yards! He at this point in there careers is the better RB and over the course of the game would almost certainly have better stats.

With that being said I am content for this year watching Emmitt carry the ball 15- 20 whilr Marcell gets about 5-10!

But thats it! Come next year Marcell should be carrying the rock full time!

Agreed.

The touchdown to Hodgins was all Emmit though, everybody locked in on him and assumed he would get the ball. Regardless of talent, Shipp does not get as much respect from thr D

Not true. Thats why Detroits players and d-coordinators all specifically stated that they were much more concerned with Shipp than Emmitt in week one. They were worried because they werent sure how much he would be used with Emmitt there.

Shipp is respecyed around the NFL. By announcers as well. What he did last year was no fluke!

Emmitt does all the little things that 99.9% of running backs do not do. You wonder why Blake didn't get touched today? Look at Emmitt and realize why...dude is HANDS DOWN the best blocking PRODUCTIVE RB in the league, and has been for the past decade and a half.

Running the ball well isn't the only judge of a RBs worth...see Onterrio Smith in Minny for an example. A much better runner than the rest of them, but a horrid blocker...hence, little PT.

Emmitt not only blocks like a madman, but he can squirt through holes that don't exist...he is a great leader for this team.

I loved seeing him get 20 carries...but I'd like to see ship get 4-5 more carries than he did as well.

I really liked us throwing to the fullback though a few times...I love seeing fullbacks get some love. Like everyone else in the stadium, and the defensive side of the field, I was thinking this would be Emmitt's first Cardinal TD...and was VERY pleasantly suprised by the playaction. That was the offensive call of the game. Great play!

Bickley wrote an article Sunday morning saying Emmitt should play less.

I can't argue with the win and yes he's a marvelous blocker, but I still feel Shipp is more dangerous as a runner and a receiver at this stage of Emmitt's career. Emmitt can still make you miss and he got several first downs on his own, but he is not as dangerous as Shipp.

That said I think Bickley's counting runs of 2 yards or less is kind of unfair you can't really tell how many SHipp would have as well it's not like Emmitt is missing big holes.

I'd like to see it more like Emmitt 15 carries, Marcel 10.

The dilemma is Emmitt's a much better pass blocker so you can't take him out on pass downs. and you can't use him on pass downs only.

Bickley is a hack, and a bad hack at that. Now I'm even more fully behind Emmitt's playing time! :D

Well said, Russ. I agree though Emitt is a much better blocker.

On the TD pass to Hodgins, Smith threw the block that allowed Blake the time to make the throw.

I wouldnt call that a block! He was being tackled becasue he was a decoy on the play. The play action was great and the players went after him letting Hodgins peel away untouched.
