Huge road trip coming up with Dallas, Minnesota, and St. Louis all in the span of 4 nights. We're currently 6 points out of the last playoff spot, so we really can not afford to fall any more behind.

No, but I was at the Coyotes game last night and saw a guy wearing a Cardinals hat. I thought it was strange because I later saw a guy wearing a Packers Favre jersey and a Packers sideline hat. I though maybe he was at the wrong game!!

The Coyotes did a pretty good Cardinals impression last night, huh?

That was awful. :(

The Coyotes were winning with less than 2.5 seconds left in the game and couldn't hold the lead. That is so weak.

After a timeout, too! I swear it was like watching the Cardinals find a way to lose. :(

The Coyotes needs some scorers. Ballard is the only guy on the team that I am excited about.

You should post in the Coyote forum. I get lonely over there sometimes. :)

I'm just getting into hockey. Was big time before the strike. Got to find something to bridge the gap between Football and Baseball seasons.

My favorite year for the Coyotes was the year Bobby Francis won the Coach of the Year. It was the first year after we lost Tkachuk and Jeremy Roenick. I loved Daniel Briere and Danny Markov. They were a lot of fun to watch.

There aren't any great players on this year's team. I want to get excited about the 'Yotes but they have no stars or up and coming stars.

Nagy is a hell of a talent, but I totally agree, this team needs to get some scorers to be a legitimate threat.

Honestly, I think blowing the game yesterday pretty much killed all remaining hope of the Coyotes reaching the playoffs. You simply cannot allow the team you are chasing to tie up the game with 2.2 seconds left and then blow it in overtime. Winning that game would have put the Coyotes 4 points out of 8th place, but now they are 7. And what is worse is that each of the teams ahead of them have not played as many games as the Coyotes, so they have more opportunities for more standings points than we do.

There are wispers starting to swirl about Cujo being traded, possibly to Vancouver or Philly. I really do not see any way around it, I believe we must trade Cujo if we continue to fall out of the playoff hunt. He is not going to come back next year, and his trade value near the deadline will be astronomical. His contract is basically nothing so any contender can fit him under the cap; he is one of the very few excellent starting goaltenders out there on the trading block and there is always a huge demand for them at the deadline.

Doug Weight today was traded from the Blues to the Hurricanes. The Blues were able to not only get a first rounder, but 2 fourth rounders and a couple of decent but unspectacular young players as well. Considering that Joseph plays a premium position and has a more cap-friendly contract than Weight, I am almost certain we could get a somewhat similar return. Sanderson, Ricci, and LeClerc could all be valuable trading pieces at the deadline as well, which will occur soon after the Olympic Break, March 8th.

I find Doan, Nagy, Comrie, Saprykin, Nash, etc. all exciting to watch. The Coyotes are far more exciting than two years ago, before the strike.

They do needs more scorers, though.

I would agree that the current 8 game homestand is basically the "season". So far, the Coyotes are 1-1-1, 3 points in the first two games. With home games upcoming against Vancouver, Los Angeles, Minnesota, Chicago, Dallas, and San Jose prior to the 3 week Olympic break, the Coyotes have a chance to make up some ground.

I think the franchise knows how important is it to make the playoffs. The Coyotes are 6 points behind 8th place Minnesota. I think they would need to go at least 4-2 in the remaining 6 games to get back in it. If the Yotes are a couple of points out of 8th place, I don't see them throwing in the towel and trading all their players away.

The news just gets worse... Nagy is out at least 5 days with a knee injury.

Nagy will be out at least 3-4 weeks with athroscopic knee surgery, according to tonights broadcast. This is clearly a huge blow for the team, and with the trading deadline only a month away and our chances of playoff hockey all but dead now, Barnett is going to have some tough decisions to make.

Nothing new...we've been averaging about six goals every three weeks or so all season.

Seriously, though, if that play that well against Detroit on Saturday, things might get interesting....

Oh, and  to Mike Ricci for blocking a shot, getting obviously hurt, losing his stick, then going back down to block another shot. :notworthy

Hey, anyone know what the general cheap seat prices for a Coyote game cost? I'm flying in to Phoenix today to prepare for my re-relocation back to Arizona in May (Mrs. Snake and I have a few job interviews and we're signing on to an apartment in Tempe).

As a late birthday gift, one of my friends said he's going to take me to either the Rattler or Coyote game. I want to be generous and go with the cheaper of the two, so was wondering those of you who regularly frequent Glendale Arena, what the price range is?

I would check phoenixcoyotes.com. It might be tough, though - Saturday games are usually pretty well attended and this Saturday is Detroit. Could already be sold out, but I don't know.
