Are you here for work?

Yeah, a usability conference at the Hilton Exec tower.

Never been to Portland before; I hear it is awe-some and the microbrews are a'plenty.

-I kinda trust you. :p

LOL I wouldn't streer you wrong. I wouldn't do that to anyone, even a Lakers fan. Let me ask some buddies where to go and get back to you, I've not been to a bar in some time. I'm sure there's gotta be a Laker fan friendly bar somewhere here. You'll be downtown so there should be plenty of options. You won't even need a car! Hell, maybe I'll be able to get away and join your Laker lovin' ass for a brew, if that would be ok of course.

I was just in Portland for the first time myself two weeks ago Donald (didn't want KloD to know before hand as, well... it's a trust thing between me and him... :p).

I stayed at the Hotel Monaco downtown. Have to admit I was not blown away with the downtown scene there in Portland. But did have a very nice dinner at a place called Pazzo on Washington St. They had a front bar area that seemed pretty cool with lots of TV's...

That would be great. Of course, our bet would apply so you couldn't trash the Lakers in my presence (I expect you'd be going outside a lot to scream) :p

Thanks for checking out the scene for me.

Pazzo eh...I'll add it to my list. Dinner and the Finals, can't be beat.

Really good food and not too pricey... They make their pasta fresh each day which of course can't be beat!

Like I said, the front-bar area had a solid vibe to it. Lost of TV's and wood tables. Great selection of brews on tap...

Have fun!

I know what can beat eating dinner and watching the Lakers in the finals, eating dinner and not watching the Lakers in the finals.

No, that is a major Fail.

Plus, it is not realistic. :p

The reason the NBA has grown old to me is very simple.. It has grown old.. If you look back at the last 20 yeras of the NBA, only 5 or 6 teams have won the title.. Bulls, Lakers, Spurs, Pistons, Rockets were the major teams.. Look back on the NBA history itself, and all the titles are owned by about 15 percent of the teams ,.. Add to that the piss poor officiating and the no ryhme or reason suspensions and the T's .. It all adds up to one big pile of stinking mess.. It has turned me off from the NBA.. Unless your a fan of one of the teams that wins all the time, the NBA has nothing for you except questions and disbelief.. As a kid basketball was my favorite sport, I liked the way they dribbled up and down the court... eerrr.. Hold on lol.. But no, it really was.. Over time the Cards in the early nineties came on strong to me and then all this crap we call basketball.. The flopping, the whiners, all that crap.. Its ridiculous.. I came to these conclusions so as not to be a whiny lil ****** fan like the Kings fans.. So I stepped away from looking at my team and realized all this bigger picture crap.. I still think KJ and Walter Davis are the shiat.. Still think Mike Jordan is the best ever of anything.. Still think Magic and Bird battles were epic.. But this NBA now, is boo boo.. And the only reason I tune in is to see LeBron.. Thats it.. But with all that said, whoever wins the east this year, I will be there biggest fans.. Not because Im so consumed with the NBA.. But because of the past, when the Mad House on McDowell started chanting BEAT LA.. When Lakers fans didnt dare show up in our house.. I will be rooting against the Lakers because I remember how the NBA used to be.. And I just hope LeBron is there this year..

82 didn't contact me before a visit... shocking! Heck, I'm surprised you would visit our liberal city. :D

Anyway, Pazzo is good. But, there is soo much better. Not a bad choice though. I can't say much about the scene anymore, as I said I haven't been out to a bar in a long time. Though when I did several years ago it was a lot of fun going downtown. The live music scene was amazing, don't know where it's at now though.

Of course.

What is your favorite style of food? There are some really good restaurants downtown, especially if you like beyond the standards.
