IDK. Dallas brass says they want him to stay. Kidd says he wants to play for a team that has a chance to win a ring. Maybe cleveland is his desirable stop, but who knows. I think he has done well for dallas, but the mavs lack dribble penetration at the guard position. and unfortunately when they booted harris their offensive burdons went straight to dirk to bail the mavs out in cases in terms of the half court setting. everything goes through 41 in the halfcourt. he needs help.

Actually, I never liked Kidd's game as much as I did the last month or so. He knows how to fit in and be useful and take over for spurts at the right moment when the team needs it, like Stockton was the master of back then. Without much of ball handling, he has great energy for excellent defense. His posting up, now maybe his only dangerous weapon left, is better than ever. So, I'd like to have him sign here for cheap if we trade away Nash and get cap room in the process. Otherwise, he'd be a huge help anywhere, Denver, SA, Magics, Pistons, Blazers, Heats.

I have got to ask - do you ever have a post where you don't advocate trading Nash for someone/anyone, or waiving him, or whatever?

Like this post - fine comments about Kidd, but had to get the Nash bit in there, eh?

Seriously...between this and the years of Marion hate, it's like you have to pick one of the Suns most popular and well-liked stars and wail on him endlessly until he's off the team.

All I ask for is variety! ;) Advocate trading Richardson for a day or two - see how it feels and shock the board!

Well, I was rooting for Dallas to stay alive in this game, but after reading this...

About how Mark Cuban was verbally assaulting Kenyon Martins mother, I'm disgusted and hope Denver rolls them by 50. Mark Cuban is a pile of **** and he should be ashamed of himself. I don't care how mad you are, you don't go after a guys mother, that's just totally uncool.

Go Nuggets!

Well, apparently, I tackle the problem at its root. And the most crucial move the Suns now faces is whether Nash stays or leaves. Other issues are less significant.

So, did you like my comments about Kidd? Or because it made you see the problem Nash currently has and got you shut down against its further recognition right away? Actually, I was telling that as a prediction for Nash's effectiveness anywhere the rest of his career. If he can't emulate Kidd and Stockton, the team he dominates with ballhandling on will be average with certainty. I say that because I love this guy and wish he could make his team more successful. Any problem with that?;)

Since I don't like either team, can I just say that the refs were terrible again tonight?

They were terrible Mulli, but Dallas isn't complaining today right they made just enough calls for the Mavs to steal a game they probably would have lost without the help. Oh well Denver will probably blow them out on Wednesday at home.

This is the wrong thread for this, so I'll move to one of the endless 'should Nash go or stay' threads.

However, I disagree with your assessment of the degree to which Nash's strengths and weaknesses impact the team. I think his strengths have a much bigger impact than most folks give credit for (witness our record when he misses a game), and his weaknesses on defense are not the end of the world.

IMO, the Suns have lots of issues to solve with an aging and ill-fitted roster, and Nash is not at the top of that list. I also felt the same way about Marion with regards to his time on the team. He was not the weakest link back then, and Nash is not now.

So, we'll have to agree to disagree I guess. :)

Back on topic for the thread, the Nugs missed Birdman last night. Even though he is a foul-machine, his activity, rebounding and blocks have been key in their playoff run so far.

Hope he doesn't have the swine flu or something.

Wouldn't it be the Bird Flu?

Kidd's shooting has improved by leaps and bounds since I've last seen him play regularly (backcourt2k days). I don't know if this was a recent thing or not but his spot up 3's and even long 2's have been money this postseason. Either the law of averages will bring him back from his stratosphere or you really can teach an old dog new tricks.

Official apology from Cuban @ http://blogmaverick.com/

Seems fairly genuine, but I still think he's a douche.

Mark Cuban is a little whiny bitch! Don't see him complaining that the refs basically gave them the game last night putting Dirk on the line what seemed like every possesion they had in the fourth!

It doesn't sound genuine to me at all. He portrays himself as a victim, tries to downplay the incident as something "no one heard," challenges Martin and his family to "move on" (so that, if the fallout from the incident continues, it will somehow be their fault for not accepting his apology), and makes piddling offers of hotel rooms and dinners that won't begin to put a dent in his pocketbook.

It's 100% spin.

That's what I thought it seemed like. Translation: "Because this might make me look bad, here's an apology even though i'm not sure I was in the wrong. If I can buy them off, I will!"

agree. to me it sounded like a douchebag that yelled at somebody's mother, heard that the mother's child was a tough sob that was looking for him, and is now backpedaling as fast as he can b/c he's a tremendous wuss. if he was a man he'd just say, "okay kmart - i'll take my lumps - steelcage match this summer."

Mavs down 55-69 after the 2nd quarter. Mavs are shooting 54% with 5/12 3 pointers, Nuggets 64% with 7/16 3 pointers. Mavs have committed 8 turnovers, Nuggets 6. Mavs and Nuggets both have 5 offensive rebounds. Mavs have hit 8/12 free throws, Nuggets have hit 2/3 free throws.

The Mavs' defense is appalling for them facing elimination.

Love this reply to the blog apology:

“When the series comes back to Dallas”

You’re kidding, right?

Is it just me or does anyone else think that Cuban must be paying the officals?
