I know this comes as little consolation but you earned a ton of respect from the Steeler nation last night. Your team is finally headed in the right direction, your owners son seems to care, your coach is top notch and your players just gelled and played team football. What did Bidwill say Pittsburgh west? Your team played like it, they hung together and played like champions, unfortunately someone loses.

Please follow the lead of your team and coaches, leave the sour grapes to the whiny Seahawk fans, you and your team are better than that!!!

PS. The last Seattle comment is made more relevant by the fact that I was raised in western Pennsylvania transplanted to Seattle.

Thanks but we already won over the only people that matter, that's the fans of the team.

We knew how good we were, I'm glad you got to see that too, next time I hope we kick your ass and don't let you out of it.

Have a nice day.

I would have routed for the Cardinals last night as if they were the Steelers BUT they just happened to be playing the Steelers.

It was a great game and my heart took a beating.

If by chance the Steelers don't make it all the way in 2009, I would love to see the Cardinals go all the way.

Good Luck!

Amen brother.

The hell with the damn steelers...their players, fans, organization, and even the jackass driving the team bus.

The Cardinals are all I care about.

To any steeler fan extending an olive branch...imagine I just ripped it out of your hand and broke it over your head. I don't want to hear it.

BTW- I speak for me, not the Red Sea. I'm probably alone in this. I've watched that wife beater over and over pummel Francisco and I'm pissed. More pissed at Francisco for being a little baby, and Ben Graham for not drilling the wife beater. So yeah, I'm a little hot right now.

I think this clip sums up everything, including the "great game" stuff at the end. I couldn't figure out how to just edit the last part, sorry.

Are you sure? The SB is difficult for any team to reach, but I wouldn't count the Steelers out next year (maybe the year after from age and free agency). The Steelers get their running game and short yardage productivity back next year with the return of their starting RG, starting LT, and Rashard Mendenhall--all on IR since early in the season. A better line also gives Roethlisberger more protection. They get their Pro Bowl caliber punter back, too.

The Cardinals will be better even if only from the experience and confidence standpoints.

It should be an interesting offseason for a lot of teams.

You do realize that I never said anything about the Cardinals being in the SB next year. I simply said that I guarantee the Steelers are not in it.

straight up guy here (steeler fan)- and not to pick fights or anything... just browsing...

But, honestly, i can tell you where it came from - one guy visits, posts a thread saying, "look here --> everybody is complaining about the calls" and several come over.

Myself, I was thinking, "there were questionable calls both ways... there usually are in most games".

There was nothing as significant as the tuck rule in this game... but, there were certainly questionable calls both for and against both teams.

Nah, you didn't strike a nerve. I thought I was just having fun discussing football. If you look at my posts, you will see that I didn't talk smack before and I'm not gloating now.

Note that I'm a Pirates fan, too. Talk about heartbreak and :bang:

(I'm also a part-time and possibly fulltime Phoenixer, but, shh, don't let anybody else here know.)

I refuse to act like a whiny seahawk fan. Our team this year was better than the Hawks 2005 team anyway.

I'm glad you mentioned the Pirates.

That team sucks and when the Cardinals won the World Series for like the umteenth time in history, second only to the Yankees, or that would be Green Bay to you posers, then I wasn't on the other teams board just wandering around basking in glory amoungst the freaking wounded soldiers hoping to get a nugget of ego boost.

Why do people do that?

It's a character flaw man.

Nope, I'm with you.

Ditto.

I heard enought from Steeler fans. Sorry, but the idiots that were here on this board before, make me wary of any "congrats" we are getting around here. The only thing I learned about Steeler fans from this experience is to think less of them, and there team.

Just to clarify, I wasn't comparing the football Cardinals to the Pirates' futility for the past umteen years. I was recalling the last time they were in the NLCS and were denied a victory in the bottom of the 9th by with a play at the plate. Probably not the same as the SB loss to many AZ fans, but it was devastating to me. It's still a vivid memory.

"Why do people do that?" I see it as part of the Internet forum culture. You can strike up conversations with out-of-towners in a local cafe or pub all the time. Idiots, troublemakers, gems, ladies, gents--they're all there. Some have had bad form, but others have engaged in quality football discussions, IMO. Maybe I'll be banned. Maybe I'll post for many years after I move to PHX, bad form and all! ;)

Take care.
