How about Jack Buck on the call of the Tampa Bay game? :)

And what an ugly divorce between the city of St. Louis and the Cardinals.
By that game it was already a forgone conclusion the Cards were moving. I remember no one really caring as the baseball Cards were all the rage having just played in the World Series. The strike that year didn't help matters much.

One of the greatest comebacks in NFL history. And I was there to see it:

"The year I became a Cardinals fan" I lived in Gravios Mills on the lake of the Ozarks on the KC side and nobody liked the Cardinals, but with the talk of going to Phoenix I saw every game on tv and highlight I could.

Here is that game in it's entirety. Watch the end. I don't get Hanifan's thinking. Lomax hits Pittman for about 8 yards and there's like 17 seconds left as they approach the LOS and instead of doing a snap and throw out of bounds, which they had time to do, he scrambles the kicking team onto the field. Dumb. They had ample time to even run a sideline play for a few yards or throw it away. Would have had at least 5 seconds left to kick.

at that time the dollar to british pound ratio was around 1.5 so if i won I would have won 10k british pounds or $15 US dollars

Gotcha. Damn Cards.

Weird someone posted this game from '87 and that was the game you had the parlay on.

I honestly believe if the Cards win that game, they go on to win the Super Bowl. The team was sooo good at that point. That game changed Cards history, IMO and they may have never been in AZ...

I was at that Washington game. The officials screwed us horribly. When it ended, even the Skins fans admitted we should have won.
Yes they did...I was 10 when that game happened and I had and epic meltdown after those calls and the missed FG. There was also a 3rd and 20 on Washington's final drive that Cards played what seemed to be a soft zone and --I think Art Monk-- was wide freaking open for 20 yards. :(

I wouldn't go that far because they had already lost to Miami and SF ended up blowing Miami out in the Super Bowl. I think we would have hung with them but the 9ers were just too damned tough that year.

Didn’t they face Dolphins much earlier in the season when they weren’t playing nearly as well?

Week 5. After that came the 4 game winning streak then a 3 game losing streak then another 3 game winning streak. This team was way too streaky to be a SB team.

Most were very close losses...if O'Danaghue could've consistently hit FGs when they mattered they likely would've won 12 to 13 games that year.
