Ladies and Gentlemen,
What faces us, is the longest part of the offseason. With MAYBE an extension to look forward to, and the signing of our rookies, we got 44 days of nothing. I got 13 topics that I will hit on (about 2 a week).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
2009 Cardinals Quarterbacks:
Let's face it, Kurt Warner is our guy for 2009 and there are no two ways about it. Hopefully he continues being healthy, and continues to produce like he has done in the past. They say you need about 3 years in an offense to really start clicking. Well, Warner, Fitz, and Anquan have all been together for a while, and they are entering the third year in Whiz's system.
It may sound crazy, but I expect our passing game to be even more potent than last year. I would not be surprised to see the actual numbers in yards to go down as the amount of wins the Cardinals goes up, but win are what matters.
As for Leinart ? Well, he has to earn his backup spot this year, which is a good thing in my mind. Let Brian St. Pierre push him a little in camp, and through that battle we all will get a progress report on Leinart this year. I would be shocked if BSP beats our Leinart for the backup spot. That would not be a good thing for the Cardinals, IMO. It would cause concerned for the entire organization that we do not have a QOF.
But I think that Leinart will in fact be our backup, and will hopefully see some garbage time this year in a few games. The Cardinals have the kind of offense to put a team away early, and by a large margin. It would benefit this team to get some younger guys experience and groom them for when they take over.
All in all the Cardinals are in a position at QB to deal with the season and what ever it brings.
