Shawshank resonates with me because it is one of those movies that I saw in the theater and was mesmerized by. Maybe just a tad overlong, but still a powerful film and easily inspires more emotion than the other 3.

The sweeping crane shots of the rain and the river are about as heavy handed as it gets for redemption metaphors, but I didn't really care. Was just caught up in the moment and loved every moment of it.

All great movies are edited to a pace in relationship to the type of movie it is. The pace of this one was perfect. I can't imagine a "director's cut," because there's nothing I would ever want to add or subtract from this film.

Totally agree.

Shawshank was far greater than FG IMO. PF is way overrated.

I'm watching the never-ending seen between willis and his girlfriend right now on VH-1 and honestly, it might be mind-numbing enough for me to change my vote to shawshank.

Of course the rest of the movie is bad ass but then again so is shawshank.
