Suns deal Marion and picks to the Magic for T Mac

The toss up between Kobe and TMAC is hard now. TMac has the height, Kobe has the competive nature. TMac carries his horrible team to unexpected heights (well not this season, although they are doin better), Kobe has a hand full of rings

Kobe has a rape trial
Tmac has a bad back

Well we can always throw in some player(s) to make the deal work. I heard Marion is on the trading block as well, thats what prompted me to make this topic.

Trade Marion+White or whatever throwins for Rasheed Wallace.


Wallace, McDyess, Googs, Ward should free enough cap to offer max contracts to Kobe AND TMac and we would probably still have some money to spend.

I was actually talking about that with my friend Slin.

The problem is, if we clear to many of our good players, no one will want to come here.

That is one way how teams with massive cap room get screwed, especially when dealing with big names.

By keeping Marion, I think our chances of pulling Kobe are much much higher, because we wouldnt look like we were rebuilding.

I dont believe the Suns would even think of Kobe. They want family men with values. Plus the possibility of Kobe leaving the Lakers is slim to none. Thats why I suggested T Mac, and if we trade Marion for T Mac, we will still have two great players with Amare. Plus when Zarko gets back I think he will be a stud.

You're wrong. Kobe leaving the Lakers is at least at 50:50 odds right now.

isn't someone innocent 'til proved otherwise and btw -i'm not for rape, for sure not- isn't everyone allowed a 2nd chance.

i think kobe's the best, he has this real winner mentality and a bit more aura than tracy....not to forget the cooler name

According to hoopshype TMac can opt out only in 2005.

Too bad I was pretty sure that he had basically the same contract that Kobe has.

I also think that Kobe is better than TMac. Maybe the stats don't show it but Kobe is more exciting , clutch and usually always played intelligent basketball.

If he is innocent we should definately try to clear that much more cap to offer him a contract he considers.

Also if he is innocent and endures this trial it will only make him mentally tougher and I doubt he would ever get into a situation like that again.

slin there are few things that the suns could do to make me swear off the team, but if they traded marion for wallace i would be gone in a heartbeat. wallace is a punk and the type of player that JC has shown that he wouldnt allow on the team. plus it would be a big down grade to go from marion to wallace. wallace maybe a better scorer but he is no where close to the all around player that marion and it is questionable if he is a better scorer. so the only reason you feel that you want wallace is he isnt marion? and you think that we can clear some more space under the cap?

Assuming kobe is found innocent (big if)... I think i would prefer kobe. I think T-mac and kobe are on the same level offensively, but kobe has the edge on the defensive end.

Of course i wouldn't be dissapointed with either

IMO this is definitely all geared towards stealing Kobe.

1.) He is the best FA available, by like 100000%

2.) Jerry C has an infatuation with him, to put it lightly. When he drafter Amare all he did was say he hasn't felt so good about a player since they brought in Kobe. He kept on talking about how they tried to move up. There was all the rumors about a JKidd and Marion for Kobe like 4 years ago (when the first fued happened)

3.) He would replace Marbury's willingness to take the last shot. He would replace the drive to win.

4.) From a reality standpoint, there is a 95% chance he will be found innocent, whether he did it or not.

5.) They knew the Suns would become the instant front runner in the Kobe race behind the Lakers.

6.) It gives them a marketable draw for the first time since Barkley. Non Avid fans weren't crazy about Kidd when he was here, same for Marbury. Although they were aall great players, none have the draw Kobe has, rape trial or not.

7.) There just isn't anyone else worth it.

yea shouldnt the girl have a chance at not being forced to do something that she didnt want to? didnt she give kobe a chance to stop when she said no a second time or a third or forth? time will tell where he didnt or didnt do but i will tell you based on how his team is attacking this girl i wouldnt want him in the same state as me let alone on a team i love.

Im not saying your wrong about Kobe. I just dont think it will happen. About Frank and the sponsors wife. I think the C's didnt like it but had recently hired him and didnt wanna eat his contract. Cant trade a coach.

I totally forgot. Marion is still BYC. So they won't be able to trade him till next year at the earliest. (Since all of our other big contracts are gone, we can't pull a deal like insider suggested a few weeks or so go)

he is a major contributor, a good guy
and someone a big star doesn't mind having because he'll pass the ball and make life easier for the 1st and 2nd option

The Suns can get T-Mac only if Orlando fears it cannot re-sign him. It is not impossible but unlikely - depends on him.

Kolbe is going to be a free agent this summer. Why trade for a guy you could easily lose?

I love Tracy McGrady. I do think is a better player than Kobe Bryant, but he is more injury prone. He has lower back problems, and not the kind that teams make up to put people on the injured list.
