Nash a double-MVP still improving!

I know what you are trying to do, but you can't improve the "Most" when you are already the two time MVP.

Does the NBA have a comeback player award? It does, doesn't it? Amare would be a shoe-in for that.

Not anymore. It has the MVP and finals MVP. The All NBA and Rookie teams, DPOY, 6th man, Sportsman, Coach of the Year, Most Improved Player, and J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award.

Just reading the names throughout this thread, and there are a lot of legitimate candidates for the award this year. Maybe the most I've ever seen in any given year.

If Andrew Bynum starts playing up to his potential then he could be included in the list by the end of the year.

Deron Williams, Kevin Martin, Luke Walton, J.R. Smith and Monta Ellis are my main candidates but it's too early to tell as some will fade by spring.

For now, I'd go with Martin, slightly ahead Williams.

Amare #1 This guy couln't do anything last year now look at him!
Barbosa #2 If he quits getting injured
Monta Ellis #3
Deron Williams #4

That's because you can't be objective.

Highly doubt it. He's still far too young and inconsistent. I love Drew, but he's still a work in progress. Maybe next year, if he makes the same leaps and bounds improvements he did from last season, but he's still too raw to get extended playing time.

it's gotta be Ellis or Martin - no one else is even remotely close. Then Deron William and Walton is probably a distant fourth.

Amare did in the past, what he is doing now. You cant really improve if you've already done the same thing in the past.

I would guess Deron Williams will get some votes if he and the Jazz keep up their pace. His improvement is one of the reasons why the Jazz have been doing well this year.

2006-2007 (2005-2006)
17.4 PPG (10.8)
48.2 FG% (42.1)
78.3 FT% (70.4)

3.6 RPG (2.4)
8.8 APG (4.5)
1.1 SPG (0.8)

wow, hadn't realized that deron's numbers took off that much. he's def #2 behind martin, but it may be close.

i like walton's game a lot, but he's way behind these two.

Walton isnt even in contention... look at his numbers, the only thing improved are his shooting numbers which may be due to the synthetic ball and his minutes.
The rest of his improved stats are a product of more minutes, twice the minutes, twice the rebounds, twice the assists, twice the blocks etc.. it all works out that way..
