I was looking over the prospect for the first round and this class looks stacked. At least 4 excellent RB's a couple of good QB's, and a ton of CB's. I think no matter where we pick it would be hard to miss in this draft.

I am starting to like this cat more and more. If we pick in the 15-20 range would he even still be there?

Wow if he fell to us and we somehow managed to sign Suggs that would be sick. It's cool to have a good offense, but I would love to see this team become a lights out, shutdown defensive force.

If he is still on the board when we pick and we dont take him, I will be royally pissed off..

Yeah I think he's on the top of my draft wish list as well. Something tells me this kid is going to end up being a top 8 pick though.

The last time a stud CB came out of UofA the Cardinals pasted on him and instead drafted a WR.. Good thing we dont need WR's this go around..

Oh, and the CB and WR names are .. David Boston and Chris McAlister

Isn't his 40 time slower than Rolle's was coming out? I'm not a big 40 time guy but people blast Rolle for being too slow and base alot of it on his 40. I think the DE/OLB position is loaded. Look at the top guys for that position. Long, Groves,Harvey, Campbell,Gholston,Jackson(USC),Jackson(LSU),Ellis, and Blake are all tier 1 prospects.

I dont know Cason's 40 time but he definitly isnt slow.. The dude is everywhere on the field...

Heres some links:

This site lists his 40. http://walterfootball.com/draft2008CB.php

Antoine Cason, Arizona

Height: 6-0. Weight: 182.
40 Time: 4.39.
Projected Round: 1-2.
Considered on the same tier as Leon Hall and Darrelle Revis before he pulled himself out of the 2007 Draft, Antoine Cason has picked off 10 passes in three years at Arizona. Cason has similar attributes as Hall, who was drafted 18th by Cincinnati.

Cason is exactly what we need so we can use Green as a nickel back. Most mocks have him going in the mid to late 1st round so we should have an opportunity to take him.

I don't know what his actual 40 time will be but I will say this on the field in games he looks a lot faster than Rolle did in college. Remember Rolle actually ran a faster 40 before the draft than people expected and they were still questioning his speed because of what they saw on film, great college player who wasn't being used like a traditional CB. Cason has game speed.

the pipe dream would be a kid like Asomugha who I believe can be a FA after this season. He's not likely to actually get to free agency of course but if he did that would be the type of guy you spend money on to sign.

If that guy hits the FA market, i hope the Cards are all over him. He's as good a CB as is out there. You're right, he'll probably never see the market but you never know with senile Al calling the shots.

Speed and quickness are different things. Rolle isn't very quick, he has decent straight line speed. Cason is very fluid and can change directions very well. Lets not forget he is on the track team too, can't be that slow.

Speaking of the draft, there is one Tight End that I would love for us to get in the 2nd round.

Martin Rucker, Missouri.

The man is a beast and is Boldin-like out of the TE position. He can block and catch as well as any WR.

Although I don't know if he will be around if we are picking in the middle of the round.

I smell a slight bit of homerism with all this Antoine Cason talk.

And SMH @ all this selective memory mixed with hindsight about Antrel as a prospect. Someone explain to me how Rolle wasn't being used as a "traditional" corner when coming out? Just because he excels at being physical and jamming receivers makes him atypical? Pshh.

Rolle was a much better prospect than Cason coming out. Get mad.

Because Rolle was often used as a blitzer or a guy way up at the LOS.

How many INT's did Rolle have in his college career? The answer is 5 and he played more as a freshman by far than the average freshman CB at Miami.
Rolle had 183 tackles in his college career, and only 5 picks, I don't know why anybody is surprised that in his NFL career he's a good tackler who's not that good in coverage?

Cason has 4 picks already this year, and had 10 in his first 3 years so he's going to have approximately triple the number of picks Rolle did in college.

Totally different type of player Rolle is a guy who makes a lot of tackles and was a very effective blitz guy, Cason is a guy who's better in coverage.

True. And I think I would settle for someone of Darrin Lewis' abilities right now, let along McAlister.

Darrin from Bewitched(either one) would be an upgrade to Rolle at this point.

Have we seen Rolle on a nickel blitz yet? I hope we do soon. If they let him play to his strengths, at least then we would be getting something from him. Although must give him props for running down the returner for the Skins. Whether the guy was hurt or not.
