Should be an interesting offseason. At least one elite job is open with up to three or four more potentially opening as the dominoes fall.

Already Out:
Charlie Weis - Notre Dame
Al Groh – Virginia
Steve Kragthrope – Louisville
Mike Sanford – UNLV
Mark Snyder – Marshall
Dick Tomey – San Jose State
Tommy West – Memphis
JD Brookhart – Akron
David Elson – Western Kentucky

Ralph Friedgen as well it seems. Zook and Hawkins live to see another day.

Apparently Notre Dame's scout website is reporting Bob Stoops to ND is a done deal.

Not sure how much money he makes at OK, but if he enjoys winning he might want to stay there.

I may be a bit out of touch but I don't see the ND job as attractive as it used to be.

Bobby Bowden is out but they're sticking to the Jimbo Fisher succession plan.

Even more internet chatter about Bob Stoops to ND, some with Mike to OU.

Georgia's Mark Richt is on the hot seat. Not sure if the win over Georgia Tech saved him or not.

Ron Zook at Illinois is another candidate to get tossed out the door.

That natives are getting restless in Norman. "Big Game Bob" keeps losing in bowl games and to Texas.

Imagine had they lost to Okie State. If Urban Meyer ever left Gatorland for the Golden Dome, Stoops would be the logical choice as the next Gator coach, with some of his roots being as a very successful DC under Spurrier in Gainesville.

Just an observation.

I'm sure some schools will offer Petersen a deal. he might just stay given the programs success, commitment to facilities and the fact that we're now getting recruits that bigger schools normally get.

We'll see though....

Patterson staying at TCU, boosters coughed up some cash. The pool gets a bit more shallow for the Domers.

Probably a good move for him. If they win out they are pretty much a lock for a BCS every year, even if Boise goes undefeated. Their conference strength is much better.

Plus TCU could have (And still has a slim chance) to play for a championship with the the right combo of losses by other teams.

Richt will fire his DC and spare himself another two years. Or he can keep his DC and probably get the whole staff canned next year.

TCU can't even sell out a home game at a stadium with 44k capacity and they're #4 in the country. Maybe Notre Dame's not the right opportunity but at some point he'd have to think about leaving if he wants to go for glory.

It really depends what Patterson wants. He could be the southern version of Boise, make a good chunk of change, and be the nice school that people like to talk about. Or he could try to become an all-time great, make an obscene amount of dough, and be remembered with other college football legends. Nothing wring with either.
