We win our last 5 & finish @ 10-6!!!!!! Just taking Scud out means at least 4 more W's. I get to see 3 games this year......Wash., Baltimore & Philly. Psyched!!!

With Kurt Warner at QB we could go 10 - 6 with this schedule!!!!
1-15...Andrew Luck![]()
What idiot made this schedule? It's bad enough to have 3 road games on the road but, including the week before, we go from Phoenix, to Philly, to SF, to STL. Not to mention that in a 5 game stretch we get to travel to Baltimore. My God, if we win 2 of those games it will be a miracle.
If that happens...maybe he'd stay in school again.![]()
Take a deep breath. OK? Now take a second look at the schedule and put it in some sort of perspective.
Regarding the 3-game road stretch - It's matched by three straight weeks at home.
Regarding flight-miles - If you play an East Coast team away, you have to fly a long distance regardless of when. Philly is a long flight, but the following trip to SF isn't very far and StL is smack dab in the midwest (It's not London for cripes sake)!
Our only likely snow game is Christmas Eve in Cincy (with 11/13 in Philly and 11/20 in SF outside possibilities for funky weather).
Not being on SNF, MNF or ThNF - though a blow to the ego - might be a blessing in disguise (no overly short or long workweeks within the framework of a young team trying to cope with early lockout dislocation).
And we could just as easily closed out our season with a potentially "must game" vs. Seattle "on the road" instead of at home.
Regarding strength of schedule - All NFC West teams play 6 games within the division and 8 games against the same teams in the AFC North and NFC East. That leaves 2 "unique" games -
- Seattle draws Atlanta and Chicago.
- Niners draw Tampa Bay and Detroit.
- Rams draw Green Bay and New Orleans.
- We draw the Vikes and Baltimore.
So-o-o: Looking at the schedule umpteen different ways - I just don't see how we got "humped" or that the schedule was somehow created "by an idiot.""
Bet the under...I'm glad to have Carolina at home for the 1st game. They're probably the only team in worse shape than we are right now![]()
