Complete the sweep! That'd get in the Giants head and fill the D-Backs with confidence.

What an amazing season. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY would have ever imagined this scene!! Wow!!!

Hudson with yet another gritty gem! Goldschmidt with a BOMB and Upton continuing his post Allstar MVP play!

Roberts should be mentioned as well. Man is he just a royal pain in the ass for the opposing team!!!

And Brian Shaw did his job in fine fashion!

One thing to add - Gibby, Baylor, Trammel and Williams have clearly schooled this team on the value of taking pitches. With the exception of a few, this team is doing a tremendous job of working counts and getting the opposing pitchers to run up their pitch counts!

Just fantastic baseball all around!!

I noticed that as well. I checked in on the pitch counts after the fourth inning and Big Time Timmy Jim had thrown over double of what Hudson had thrown.

If only we could do something with the hitting from the middle infielders in some way.

I'm ok with Willie at SS while Drew is out. It's Johnson that is a severe problem. And, sticking with the "middle" of our defense, I have to toss CY into that mix as well... ugggghhh....

Jk, I should cut Kelly some slack. Hang on let me go find a knife....

Welllll ... the Giants starters are known for going deep in the count and throwing a lot of pitches. Timmy wouldn't even throw Hudson a strike. But it is nice seeing the D-Backs starters throwing strikes and letting the Giants get themselves out.

Terrible game. BUT, they did what they were supposed to do. Took the series and closed the gap. The Giants have Philly coming up in a 4 game series. That should be pretty tough.

Vogelsang is damn good... Incredible to think he's their #3! Wow... If Cain and Lincicum get hot, it's going to be very, very tough to take these guys. Particularly since it appears Beltran is totally out of his funk.

This is when guys like Johnson & CY will hurt us... We are going to need Upton, Parra, Roberts, Miggy & Goldschmidt to really step and and produce - consistently, the entire rest of the way! And it wouldn't hurt if Willie and Nady added some timely hits too!!!

Cliff Lee shuts out the Giants as the Phillies win 3-0. The Diamondbacks are now only a half game behind the Giants.

Makes me hate days off that much more. Going to the game Saturday, I love $4 beers.
