Solid series, took 2 of 3. II am anticipating this season. CY had a hell of a game today.

Drew also came up big today.

As did Bloomquist and Roberts.

We need Bloomquist playing LF and leading off -- 3-for-5 today (.394 BAvg) 2 runs scored and another stolen base (his 6th) more than we need Parra batting 8th, even with a .304 BAvg.

And we need Roberts -- 1-for-3 with a BB (.286 BAvg) and 3 RBI's today (especially after the way he tore it up in Spring Training) over Mora's .176 BAvg.

'Could use Branyon and his .400 BAvg starting regularly at 1B over Miranda and his .176, as well.

I 100% agree.

I agree with most of this. But a couple words of warning. I love Roberts and I am pretty sure I have made that known but you can't use a hot spring to state a guy needs starting time. The last time we did that we got stuck with Chris Burke. He needs to prove he can do this over the long haul. That said I want him as our starting 3rd baseman.

The main part I disagree with is Branyan. We need to find out what we have in Miranda. Should Miranda falter then I would rather bring up Allen and see what he has. We know what Branyan brings and we know he isn't our answer at 1st for the long haul. He is best used as the power bat off the bench and starting twice or so a week.

I still don't know how Henry Blanco made the team.

Wow, Enright was poor (3 rbi for the opposing pitcher) and the bullpen cracked (4 runs in 3 innings), leading to an 8-2 victory for the Cards over the DBacks. Sounded like a lot of Cards fans in attendance...

Wow! Gutierrez gave up three more runs in 2/3 of an inning.

There must something very wrong with his delivery or mindset.

How much longer are the D'backs going to keep destroying his confidence before shipping him down to work on it?

They need to send him down, along with Miranda. Bring up Allen.

What's the status on Parker right now? We obviously need pitching help.

It, in some ways, feels good that I have no expectations this year except for the team to improve. I'm just enjoying baseball. Very good series win against the Reds. Embarrassing game vs. the Cards, but I'm liking our offense now with Drew back. Hopefully we can put up some more runs against Carpenter.

Parker is coming off Tommy John and has never pitched in the majors. Unless someone gets hurts,All Star break at the soonest.

Parker threw for the first time in AA a few days ago and didn't have his command. His first 3 innings were pretty solid but the 4th gave him trouble. Command is always the last thing to come back after going through Tommy John surgery. He probably will be up around the all-star break.

Zach Duke will be back from injury soon and is the first guy in line to start should someone falter.

Also let me just say this. I love the fact people live and die with their team (I know I do) but baseball is such a marathon sport. You will win 60 and will lose 60. It is all about what you do in those middle 40 games. While it sucks to see the Diamondbacks lose lets not forget that one loss isn't going to kill us. This first month is the hardest schedule in the major leagues so if we can come out of it around .500 then that will be a huge step in the right direction. I can honestly say I am feeling much better about this club 9 games in than I did after spring training ended. We are definitely headed in the right direction.

Good win tonight. Good for Gibby to get rung, good for Upton, Young and Miranda to all have impressive shots. I enjoyed it, and it's been awhile since I've enjoyed a baseball game. I'm back in!

Davidson (the umpire) sure acted like a complete tool tonight. Talk about looking for a fight.

I love the grit this team is showing early in the season. I just don't know how they will be able to grind like this for a full 162 games.

Go Gibby!

Totally agree. For those that didn't see it: The first checked swing (in the first inning) came at a crucial time and Miggy did NOT go around. I believe there was runners on first and third, it was a 2-2 count with 2 down and Miggy held up. Davidson rang him up, inning over. Miggy was rightfully pissed. The video shows Miggy's second at bat of the game and the whole world can see what Davidson pulled. That was pure revenge. Totally unprofessional. Good for Gibby. My favorite part of the exchange "You suck, you need to f'ing retire!"

It's still early of course... however, thus far, I've seen nothing but the same 'ol D-backs... Good enough starting pitching to consistently place the team in position to scratch out W's, yet, untimely hitting or no hitting at all makes it impossible... Upton and Young are going to have to have monster years in order to compensate for the otherwise ongoing pathetic offensive performance from the rest of the team...

Gibby is a winner, plain and simple. He will find a way to get this team into winning form, some way... somehow.
However, that won't happen if what I bolded above doesn't happen... Last night they went a combined 4 for 7 with 2 dingers... and we won. Gonna need a lot more of that in order to produce more W's than L's throughout the entire season.
