The Spurs should have played Splitter more. They would have won this series.

Yeah, first series win for my Vancouver Grizzlies!!!

Wait... they're where?

In all seriousness, I'm extremely curious to see whether San Antonio finally blows it up. That core has been around a while, wonder if Pop has the cojones to pull the plug.

I know, i couldn't stand his attitude 2 seasons ago. He is has really developed into a very confident player.
He killed dallas in the 4th quarter of the games they beat the mavs. the last one he hit a 20 footer at the buzzer to win the game by 1. he isn't at the top of the list most people would make, but the guy is a beast that no one really talks about.

Zach Randolph is officially the best PF in the NBA.

Props to Memphis. They were the better team and deserved to win this series. The Duncan era is pretty much over and it will be interesting to see what happens next. Dice will retire, maybe some trades, I hope so. Most of all I hope my beloved Spurs will go back to the defense first mentality. Instead of players like Bowen and Horry we have softies like RJ and Bonner. Splitter is good and will get more PT next season. I will enjoy the rest of the playoffs both in the NBA and in my home country (my team is in the finals right now). Cheers.

at least you came back and ate it. It seems like the spurs waited until the end of the year to play their worst basketball, but the regular season can be hard to go by this days with the bi-polar league. there are only about 10 (very strong) teams and then the rest are not able to compete. So the regular season is hard to go by. memphis is a good team and they might beat the thunder. everyone is simply putting OKC in the WCF, but idk. we will see if it was just a matchup nightmare for the spurs or if memphis is the real deal. memphis did beat a lot of the top teams in the west this year and i think it comes down to how well they score in the paint. i think they can beat OKC.

Good show showing up homie. Teams win and teams lose, Spurs usually do the winning and have done it for a long time, no matter what happens, you still got Pop at the wheel, that's huge.

I agree. and I don't think it is time to get rid of TD. I think spurs fans are just starting to panic because the rings aren't coming anymore. What they have to realize is that no team can just keep pooping rings out. You have to get lucky and have the players come to you in the draft(like TD did) or in FA and trades like (miami/bost/LA etc).

they need to try to find another big man who can help him. I don't know if they are going to be lucky enough to add a third HOF to the robinson-duncan train. but at least a sidekick for TD would be nice. not mcdyess or the other stump they have. a real solid big guy that can score and defend.

parker and ginobli can still play.

The Spurs are 2-8 in their last 10 playoff games.

They are missing the old time thugs. The guys that used to beat up on other players. Those players were replaced with guys who try and be tough but really are not. It's what the Spurs always counted on. Beating up on teams for 4 quarters then letting guys like Duncan finish them off.

That team is long gone.

Good posts lorenzotexan, desertdawg and DarenG. I completely agree. All of a sudden we are kind of in the same boat.

Except you guys have a coach and a front office that knows what they are doing whereas we have neither and few signs that anything will change until we have a new owner. We'll sink much lower than you will and rise much slower.

We do have them beat in one area. They have much further to fall than we do. As Robert Allen Zimmerman once sang: When you ain't got nothin', you got nothin' to lose.

well said..you and desertdawg are right on the money. pop is probably the most stable coach in the league. I'd rather have him coach my team over anyone else. I feel like he really helped his team beat dallas last year. AFter game 1 the mavericks looked far superior than the spurs. then pop calls them out in the press and they look like a completely different team.

Now last night he looked calm as hell...almost as if he knew his team was going to lose this year. He doesn't appear to be on his way out either(unlike phil jackson or doc rivers who are probably scared to stay as they realize their team's will decline soon).

I'll be rooting for the Bulls now. Usually I only watch Suns games (limited # of hours to watch sports and I prefer the NFL) but now that they're on vacation and there's still quality basketball to be seen I'm gonna see some games.

I can't stand the Lakers, Celtics, Nuggets or Spurs but the Bulls are okay. Derrick Rose is so much better than jerks like Kobe and LeBron. I watched a Knicks game to check in on Amaré and D'Antoni and things are the same there LOL. I wish Amaré the best though, despite his shortcomings.

Here's to a Celtics-Lakers free finals!

Anyone who thinks that signing role players like Landry or Crawford or trading for role players like Millsap can make us competetive with young teams like Memphis or OKC is smoking pot.

Even if Nash could top his MVP seasons.

Nick Young and Greg Oden are the only FAs I would be interested in as they could help us in the future. Greg Oden high risk, high reward but he is a franchise player if he can overcome the injuries. I'd take that risk in our situation.

If Boston can take 2 call it a good series for Boston.

Mark Jackson is freaking terrible analyst. I can't believe some teams consider him to coach their teams.

"Grown man move"
"Hand down, man down"

whatever..

I agree completely. He has most of the basketball world fooled with his tone of voice and the earnestness of his cadence, but the words themselves are utterly hollow.
