The same thing that happened to Cuddeyer in right field. Apparently the lights make it pretty tough on some balls. Cuddeyer had two such instances and so did Upton...

Yeah, you're right. I missed most of the game and just saw the Upton play. Speaking of Upton, it seems his jammed left thumb is really bothering him. I hope they decide rest give him a little time to heal. We do have Parra and we are really going to need a healthy Upton's bat down the stretch.

I wouldn't sell Hudson short just yet. When he's right, he a very solid #2... I wouldn't be surprised to see him bounce back in a big way in his next start. He's 24 & 14 as a D-Back and last season pitched over 222 innings! Just needs to get his mind right and settle into the season.

Yes...when he is right but his problem is consistancy. He started the year out very well last year but faded towards the end. He did pitch 222 innings but gave up 217 hits nearly a hit an inning. To compare Kennedy also pitched 222 innings but gave up 186 hits. Hudson is not the ace you predicted him to be. He will get bumped down to the 4 or 5 slot when Skaggs, Bauer and Corbin are ready, which would be where most scouts believed he would end up.

He's still learning. Yes, he gave up 217 hits... but, he also sported a 3.49 ERA, while striking out 169 and only walking 50! I'll concede his consistency is an issue... however, IMHO, that's more of a maturity issue than anything else. He's 25 years old. By comparison, Kennedy is 27. This is the key year for Hudson in terms of showing that he can be a reliable #2. Let's give the kid some room here before we toss him down on the rotation. I think he's earned that benefit of the doubt...

cant believe we lost this one thought we had this in the bag. To bad after that great comeback. I was also surprised the umps let them play through that rain.

26 runners left on base last night... Yikes! And Hernandez needs to find his mojo again. JJ just got lazy and left grooved a meatball for Helton to gobble up...
Good to see Parra butst out with a 3 hit night. Upton just doesn't look comfortable. Strange to see such a huge talent enter the season in such a funk.

Anyone know why I can't listen to the Dbacks vs Rockies game on the radio? I have the tuned in app and when i go to 620 it says the game is not streaming.

Most of the time, stations don't stream games online. They only broadcast games over the air. I think it has to do with the agreements they sign with the leagues that don't allow them to broadcast games outside of their home markets.

The whole game was on KTAR, which always accompanies my watching the D'backs on Fox Sports Arizona where, by the way, they first had technical difficulties with the picture, then evidently with their audio when the picture came back up. In both situations, there was a message across the bottom of the screen about technical difficulties.

It is interesting that the TV transmission is usually delayed at least five seconds, to be able to bleep out cursing (with the sound enhanced when a TV camera points at someone), but today the TV and radio feeds were at the exact same time.

I wonder if any cursing came across on TV. I guess the pouring rain would have obliterated it anyway. :)

Didnt watch, but kept track via gamecast. Looks like Cahill had a great day and we finally hit well with RISP.

CY with another phenomenal showing. The unsympathetic vibrations from this board are certainly having a good effect on his performance :D

Amazingly, we still left 19 runners on base... I'm not sure, but, I think typically the league average is somewhere around 10-12 runners stranded per game.

Good to see J-up collect a few hits... And yes, CY continues to dominate the middle and inside half of the plate! :D

And it should be noted that Justin has zero (0) RBIs this year. This team could be scary good when he hits to his potential (and you know he will).

yea we are definitely well above average in this category. What pisses me off are the times we have RISP, zero outs, and we get zilch. Wasted opportunities.

Parra with a pinch hit homer to make it 5-1. I wonder when Gibson will give him a chance to start in left again?

Nice to win games without it coming down to the last AB.

DBacks now 7-3. And Upton doesn't have an RBI yet.

...nor a homer...

What's up with Roberts? 2 on, 1 out, the pitcher can't find home with a GPS and he hacks at a 3-0 pitch? Into a DP, no less... That seems like pretty lousy fundamentals to me...

Also, note that we are 7-3 against losing teams only. I know it's early but there appears to be legitimate reasons for concern... not limited to pitching and our friend Mr. Upton, who is stinking up the joint at the plate AND in the field... some things need to improve a lot....

If you don't have and RBI it is a good bet you don't have a homer either. :):)

Well considering there are only 5 teams with a winning record in the NL and 7 teams at .500 or better odds are that the teams we're playing will have a losing record right now.

I'm just glad our pitching staff has been able to hold up our horrible offense right now. I mean, the fact that in two out of our ten games we've scored less than 4 runs is just unacceptable. Right 82? BTW, how are our ad sales doing this year?
