Caught the highlights. Really impressed by Marshall's vision. If he can develop a decent shot he will be a solid player.

He has a decent set shot but he does need to improve his shooting off the dribble and develop a way to score around the basket.

I've seen the standard stuff, draft write-ups, videos and tonight's summer league game. I like what I've read and seen. You don't, so be it. We can revisit it in the future.

You wanted to know why he fell. Maybe he'll develop and sometime down the line teams will look back with regret but you can make the same argument with comparing any player that develops to ones that don't.

I hate how most of the NBA.com highlights are of the Grizzlies...

But looking off the stats, Marshall finally had a good game! 15 pts, a couple of 3 pointers and 10 assists!

Morris continued his beasting...damn I'm really starting to consider Morris as the starting PF next season. Even though he's putting up these performances in just summer league, that fact that he's able to do it so consistently speaks volumes and his post game has really improved a lot now.

I'd really like to see the Suns lean heavily on Morris to score off the bench this season. Outside,inside...wherever. A young PF who can score could become an asset down the road. Hopefully these summer gm's and TC will allow Marshall & Morris to develop some chemistry.

Yea hopefully both the #13 overall picks can be productive for us in the '12-'13 season.

But my biggest worry is if Gentry will go back to using Morris like Frye 2.0 and have Markieff just camp out at the 3pt line all day.

Hopefully Gentry has been watching these SL games and realized that Morris has a much bigger skill set than Frye.

Actually I knew because I was watching the draft boards. I knew the knocks on him. I guess I have always been a believer in looking at what a player can do first rather than what he can't. IMO, this is one of the flaws in scouting and why good players drop. There are few safe bets coming out of college.

Wow, thank you for saying that. I thought I was the only person who feels that way. I understand that your top five need to be complete players, but once you drop to where we've been picking for the past couple of years, you have to focus on what players can do, and not worry too much about what they can't do.

that kind of leads to what i believe in, is that you should pick the best player available instead of drafting on need.

As long as you can fill your needs elsewhere than the draft.

Just finished up last night's game on DVR. Marshall looks like a different player, I guess he's getting comfortable out there. He looks quicker and more decisive. A couple of really nice assists in the 4th Q that I don't think anyone else out there could have made.

I agree. He looked like a different player on possessions he walked it up the court versus possessions he pushed the ball up court. He looked solid in the open court.

Just checking the internet about center, Xavi Rey, a Spanish professional basketball player. He looked good aside from some questionable comments by an announcer about him looking like Matt Geiger. I think they were referring to Rey.

The word was he was supposed to play for the summer Suns. I'm just wondering what happened. He appeared to dislocate his shoulder in the second half for the Grizzlies but he caught my eye.

I guess I'm looking at all the options the Suns might have if they choose not to match Lopez or withdraw their qualify offer.

If the Suns are looking for a summer league castoff, they should consider Jermaine Taylor, currently on the Bulls' squad. He's an athletic 6' 4" shooting guard who hasn't caught on with anyone yet, probably because he has limitations that become evident once you see more of him, but given that the Suns could use a backup SG, he might be an appealing option.

I was looking for possible replacements at center for Robin Lopez should the Suns not keep him.. Shooting guards can apply as well. :)

I agree with this. It really proves true with Faried last year. The kid could rebound and defend. He had the athleticism to do it on the next level. People instead looked at his size and limited offensive repertoire. Big mistake.

That still irks me. Its like 6'8" is some magical cut-off for front court players so at 6'7" Faried was too small, who cares that he had a longer reach, could jump higher, had better instincts and certainly showed more hustle than almost any big in that draft. I am not totally out on Morris but given what the Suns needed not taking Faried was a big mistake.

Which is odd for our front office because Shawn Marion played PF, especially defensively, for us for years. Just too bad they couldn't see the talent there. To be fair I was yelling at my Tv for Leonard at that point, but Faried would have also made me happy.

Let's say Brown gets to be a starter at sg position, why wouldn't we add proven players like Arenas, Barbosa, Nachbar, Redd, Vujacic or young Z. Dragic and your/trade rookies. Houston' seems to have love for PFs, I think they have 9 or 10 of them already....

A two year deal? Who gives a guy who hasnt played in the NBA in 5 years a 2 year contract?!

It's for the minimum and I'd bet anything the 2nd year is a team option. Really nothing to lose sleep over since he's hardly making more than the minimum cap hold the Suns had for being under 12 players.

Yeah, I saw in another thread its not a guaranteed contract. My shock is withdrawn.
