It makes good sense about the lineup you propose.

Is the sentiment in London and the rest of the UK glad that Scotland stayed part of the UK? I'm a huge fan of Amy Macdonald and kept a particular eye on the Scottish vote for independence.

Late reply as i've been making my way back home to Queensland, Australia (thanks for having me Dad) to take a breather from my job (quit it) and the English winter (it sucks).

Don't know Amy MacDonald but assume you mean the song writer, and the sentiment about the vote was mixed - Scotland are a bit of a drain on state finances (but not so much as it's made out) so plenty of English would have been happy for them to split, but others (myself included) are happy with the no vote in view of the uncertainty / risk if the Yes vote had got up.

I think it was this uncertainty that did the Yes vote in - capitalism is alive and well in the UK (and so may it stay that way) and the financial risk to all businesses, as well as the state itself, was too big to ignore. I would have thought the majority of university students will have voted Yes for idealistic / nationalistic reasons (which are very good reasons) but again, the Yes vote won for practical reasons, rightly or wrongly.

Amy is a wonderful singer-songwriter, reminiscent of some of the 60's gals such as Dusty.

Speaking only for myself, I'm glad Scotland remained with the UK, sort of a united we stand feeling on my part. As I understand it, those who wanted Scotland to separate from the UK were depending upon off sea oil as a major income and felt Scotland needed more say in regard to their own future.

I am a Amy Macdonald fan who has burdened AzStevenCal with my musical interest in the singer-songwriter. :)
