Pops and and Duncan, man. I don't know if they do it next year, they just did it it best way possible. Beat the best player in the League like he stole something (well technically he did).

Pops and Manu have already confirmed they will be back next year. I'm guessing the plan will be to groom Ettore Messina who has just agreed to be an assistant next year to take over when Pop steps down.

Wade just said "
It's been a helluva ride."

LeBronzo is Gonzo if he's got a brain in his head. no way Wade walks away from 2 years 41 million bucks. LeBron's only way to win another title in his prime is to beat the heat on down the road and find another team to win with.

I think Duncan, Pops, and Wade might be straight up done. I think the Miami coach has more of a shot at the new Spurs job than he does sticking around in Miami. He will be a joke there, they boo their own team love on TV in the Finals.

Lebron knows his legacy looks more like a Subaru now.

:maninground:

His legacy is fine. 10 years from now, he'll still be considered one of the top 5 players ever. 2011, he screwed the pooch by not showing up to the Finals. This year, the rest of the Heat caught whatever James had back then.

Wade isn't even worth half of that right now.

Wade's contract could feasibly cost the Heat Lebron.

The Heat caught whatever the Cavs caught, called a superstar that wants the ball but doesn't want the ball in the Finals.

not if he gets stuck at 2 titles. He's got big decisions to make this summer. he's got probably three SUPER PRIME years left and if he sticks with this motley crew on Miami, two of those years are gonna be wasted.

and a guy who only ends up winning 2 titles just can't be mentioned in the same breath as Jordan, Magic, Duncan, Kareem, Russell, or even Kobe/Shaq. He'll be looked at the same way Wilt is. An absolute freak of nature and a definitely an all-timer, but he'll live with the Wilt/Olajuwon/Birds in the hall of legends...which is no slouchy company, but still, not top 5 of all time. He's gotta notch at least a couple more titles to get in there, IMO.

Teamball will always beast/beat/seperate Lebronball.

it didn't last season. LeBronball (whatever that is) didn't lose this series...the Heat being relatively talentless and old is what lost this series.

True that, Jordan still six-peated in my eyes, minus 1995. This supporting class got lebron to the Finals but now they're all scrubs?

LeBron got that team to the Finals almost by himself this year. Last year they were all a year younger (pretty much the last year for a bunch of old guys), and they had Mike Miller who was a key player for them.

You give Pops the same Heat team, for 365 days and they would have beaten the Spurs.

I agree. Wade looks retired, Bosh looks half-retired, and the rest of the supporting cast has nothing left. Allen, Lewis, Anderson, Haslem don't even look like NBA players anymore.

If any part of the big 4 (Duncan, Parker, Pops, or Ginobli) don't come back, 5 is all they get.

Spurs can easily repeat if everyone comes back next year.

I really don't think so. Their focus this season was otherworldly, but that's because they were so stung by last June's loss. Every key player in that organization just finished an entire year passionately fixated on redemption. The result was terrific, but it can't be repeated.

I think Duncan is done. He has nothing left to prove, and the appeal of leaving on top at 38 years old has to be more alluring than grinding for another full year just to try to stay there. I'm guessing that he plays a game or two next season as a ceremonial farewell and then hangs it up.

They way Pops never got out of the chair as time ran out... just taking it in....

The way Duncan held his hands up after all the court side interviews, confetti dying out...

The way Wade looked, expressed himself, and looked at Lebron during the post game interview...

I understand Wade gets payed if he comes back, but dude's toast. Much respect to an awesome player. Pops just looked like that was it. Duncan will only come back if everybody else does. Just my opinion.
