On a side note, I was watching TNT, and McHale just moved to Phoenix. Wonder if he could be convinced to take a local job next year.

I think Boston is doing a good job with their rebuild but I don't think they're all that close just yet. But they have a lot of assets and are entertaining their fans during this process. They are certainly in a better position than we are but they weren't in as deep of a hole as we were when they started their rebuild and Brooklyn pigeons don't come around very often.

I liked McHale as a coach in Houston and Minnesota. He only coached the T-Wolves briefly but he assembled the team he did coach and they were in the post KG era trying to figure out an identity. He did well in Houston but having a guy like Howard who is a known coach-killer had to be rough. He wouldn't be at the top of any of my coaching wish lists but it wouldn't hurt to give him a shot. I hope the Suns bring in someone with head coaching experience in the offseason.

I believe he fell victim to a coach killer but from everything I've read I don't believe Howard was the culprit.

If we're going to grab a re-tread, how about George Karl? He should be available by the time we're ready to interview. Besides clashing with many of his stars, I'm sure some of us still hold a grudge for the way he talked about KJ (called him princess IIRC) Hopefully he's smoothed off a few of his rough spots through the years though.

Or it might just tell you that the 76ers were not interested in Knight, which is exactly what this actually tells you.

His price tag is not hefty at all, he is on a favorable contract with the new cap.

And please we are talking about the 76ers, when was the last time that team made a trade based on actually acquiring good players?

I found this interesting, apparently Milwaukee tried to trade Knight for MCW straight up but the 76ers weren't interested. I think this is somewhat telling as to what Knight's value might be, considering that was before his extension I doubt his value has gone up now that he's locked in at a hefty price tag for 5 years.

They were still committed to tanking last season, the last thing they wanted was a player that might help them win a few games.

It is pretty fun to see how much Heat fans are already disliking Goran Dragic already up to 20M$ per year until 2020.

Id gladly take him back.

Thank god you are not the GM then.

Not sure what your expectations of doing that would be either as Dragic has not had success in terms of Wins and Losses, especially as a PG his record is horrible in Phoenix. In the 48 win year, we played only .500 basketball without Bledsoe which is when Dragic made a name for himself and that is basically his career achievement. A very good 3 months period in which he shined only when on the court together with Frye.

I know we're all supposed to hate Pop because he punked our asses so many times, but I just can't... the man is freaking awesome.

As the years have gone by, I still have loathing for Horry and Bowen, but have nothing but respect for the rest of the organization. The other day someone mentioned the Spurs owner, and I realized I hadn't even known his name. The sign of a good owner...

For one, Id play him at his natural position - PG. Since Nash, he was the best pure PG the Suns have had. It was the Suns who messed him up playing him out of posistion.

So what's the excuse for his poor play in Miami? It's not playing out of position, because he's not doing that in Miami.

Yes Dragic as the PG lead them to a #4 pick.

It was not until they added Bledsoe that the Suns won 48 games and even then when Bledsoe was out the Suns lost as many games as they won.

Dragic has not had any real success as a PG. His teams did better when he moved more off the ball. Individually he is having a bad season as PG.

I dont follow ex Suns players and could careless what they do on other teams. But if I were to take a guess Id say playing with Wade is the problem? He's another player who always needs the ball.

Then why do you want him back? I guess you want him back in the hope that he would play the same when he was with us before...

Odd reasoning.

Here is a tidbit about Steve Nash and a possible future with Suns. I think it is a good thing that he has an ongoing relationship with Robert Sarver.

Steve Nash on the Suns: “I’m business partners with their owner [Robert Sarver], we just acquired Real Mallorca, a Spanish soccer club. So we’re in pretty regular contact, I’ve got a lot of friends there. I might be open to working for the Suns in the future. (…) I’m not ready to do it at this time.”

This is what makes me think Mike is coming back. Nash is close with both Saver and Mike. And it makes sense he would encourage Saver to re-hire him. Then when nash is ready to join Mike and the Suns, everything will be in place.

There is some logic there.

that doesn't sound very driven. Like the Suns would be a hobby to him or something. Just an initial take.

Just my opinion, but I think Nash is saying is doesn't want to coach right now. However, he would be open to opportunities in the future.
