Does anyone else get the sense that the Hassan Whiteside fairy tale story is going to end badly. The guy just seems a bit off.

Just my opinion, but I think Nash is saying is doesn't want to coach right now. However, he would be open to opportunities in the future.

I am not sure he wants to coach at all. I think he might be waiting for McD's job.

This could be an option or some other position in the Suns front office. Something tells me that he may not be keen on the traveling life a head coaching position demands. He has always wanted to be near his children.

I've been keeping a casual eye on him since he started... he's one of the most up and down players I've ever seen, by his stats. Haven't seen him play much but I remember him going off the deep end when he played us - something Len did set him off, IIRC.

Reports that the Rockets are shopping Dwight Howard. What a fall from grace for that guy, he was one of the more loved players in the league back in Orlando, now he is about to burn another bridge.

Also, he has an opt out to become an unrestricted free agent, I doubt they get much for him.

Not that I think he's the answer to any sort of problems the Suns have but it makes me worry a little that McD might try and acquire him in sort of a Shaq 2.0 type move. He was a superstar but I don't think he qualifies as one anymore. He's not young or good enough to build around anymore. He's injury prone which limits his value on top of everything else. He's still a great rebounder but he can't be counted on offensively as any more than the 3rd or 4th option. There would be no sense in acquiring him while the Suns have both Len & Chandler. Even with him likely becoming a free agent I wouldn't trade Chandler for him straight up and definitely wouldn't trade Len for him.

I didn't realize Howard's cap number was so high, he's due 22.3 million this season and 23.2 next, if he doesn't opt out. It would take Chandler and Markieff just for salaries to match. As much as I want to see Markieff go, I don't think I'd do that trade unless picks were coming with him.

Hearing we've inquired about Shabazz Muhammed.

Interesting.

So the Suns are interested in another SG. I wonder what the Suns would offer, maybe the Cleveland pick? A number of teams appear interested. He has a nice contract.

I don't watch Minnesota often but I suspect there's a team or two out there thinking they could turn him into a version of Draymond Green. In the little time I've watched him he's looked like he'd fill the power forward role better than shooting guard.

Well, that would interesting if it worked.

I recently read that Mike D'Antoni regrets not playing Shawn Marion at center. Wow. That would have driven some Suns fans over the edge at the time.

There's some pretty crazy stories coming out about Fisher that are perhaps related to his recent firing. Rumor is, he's also been tied to the girlfriends of 2 other players in addition to the Matt Barnes story. No idea how true it is, but I'm sure someone will get around to interviewing Cleanthony and Tim Hardaway JR to find out.

Muhammad is more of a SF than SG.

His contract is not so nice, he is like Len on the 3rd year of his rookie contract.

But sure Weems and Cleveland pick.

Sounds as though Bosh has another blood clot, would certainly end his season, possibly his career.

It would not be bad news for the Suns.

The Heat could very well end up drafting at #10 again, which means the Sixers will get their pick in 2017 instead of this year which moves our top 10 protected 2018 Heat pick to unprotected in 2019.

We would have 2019 and 2021 Heat picks completely unprotected.

And it does not seem like the Heat are in a position to sign the next FA superstars.

I doubt Riley will pull of the same trifecta he did with LeBron, Bosh, and Wade. The Heat are actually in a very difficult position. They are like Brooklyn. They need to rebuild but they do not have picks to do it.

Sources: After suffering another torn labrum, Chatlotte's Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will undergo shoulder surgery. He will miss rest of season.
