They are aiming to pass us to the bottom. Well challenge accepted. Let's waive Chandelier.

Mindboggling considering they lose their pick to the Celtics.

They must really value saving that money while improving their rivals pick odds.

Not hardly. The Nets are a better team without Joe Johnson, no reason not to get rid of him. The guy has been horrible for a while now although I wouldn't be surprised to discover he's been coasting in the hopes of being set free.

As others just mentioned, the Nets don't get to keep their pick, sliding further down the rankings will just equal more embarrassment. They are not tanking, they're just horrible. Cutting Johnson might actually improve them.

For the next 3 years or so.

at first, I thought you were exaggerating here... but that 100% true, isn't it? They get their pick this year, they get to swap picks NEXT year if the Nets are worse then them... AND they get the 2018 pick?! That's amazing. What a complete and utter fleecing for Ainge.

It was truly insane. The new owner promised to win a championship within 5 years and he threw away all reason in his pursuit of it. I wonder if the league is going to amend the Stepien rule to stop this kind of destructive behavior in the future. It's really not much different than what the Cleveland owner tried to do.

The Rockets are reportedly negotiating a buyout with Ty Lawson. If the Suns had interest in him for the future (as a backup PG) he might consider coming here. However, the Suns may not want to take the risk although they do not have much to lose. I believe the Suns would have to release a player to create a roster spot.

Heat expect to sign Joe Johnson when he clears waivers Saturday. (via @ZachLowe_NBA & multiple reports)
The Heat? I thought it would be in JJ best interest to sign with the Cavs.

Marcus Thornton has been released by Houston. Now he can sign with a NBA team and be eligible for the postseason.

Lawson is a very talented player. But he needs to be rehabbed as a person. Not sure if the Suns are the environment to do that.

I wasn't interested in trading for Lawson but I would not be against a test drive for the rest of the season. If the Suns took a chance, he would not be the only Sun who has had alcohol problem.

He is exactly the type of pg I think would work well for this team going forward. But how do you determine if he has his head on straight. IF, big if, you could pick him up and he gets his life in order (Honeybadger style), it opens up huge opportunities for team improvement. Both Bledsoe and Knight become trade pieces to put together better draft picks or star players.

It takes someone smarter than me to figure out of that is possible.

For some people, alcohol is the problem. With others alcohol is the symptom.

You make good points. It's hard to tell that is why I suggested a test drive. Houston should have been a good destination for him.

I don't think Lawson and Tucker on the same team would be a good idea.

IMO its time to start comparing him to the greatest ever, Michael Jordan, even though he's only won it once so far.

I think he may be the best to play since MJ.
