I am okay with any one of the AL teams. I would prefer that the Cardinals and the Dodgers do not make it out of the first round...

I agree with you about LAD but I hope STL beats CHC. I know people will root for CHC because they've been terrible for so long but it's hard to root for a big market team that has money to buy the players it needs and they will spend big again this offseason win or lose whereas we D'Back fans can only hope the FA scraps we get can get us over .500.

I see your point but in the Cub's case, the are #11 in payroll. The Dodgers and Giants are #1 and #3 and both in our division and they are looking to spend more also.

Meanwhile we are #28. Sucks, but with no salary cap what can you do?

3 of the 4 starting infielders are rookies & a couple of the outfielders.

Man that crowd in Toronto is electric. Got me pumped up on Price's last strike out.

And they only have three players that average $10 million or more and one of those was aquired in a trade in Montero. Heck, the Braves had 5 players making $10 million or more. The Cubs rebuilt through their farm system. Now, this off season, I expect them to break the bank with Price and with two $25+ million arms you will have a case.

Even 2 aces (no matter the cost) works great in some cases...2001...

Agree, but too bad Lester will be the #3 and Arieta will be the 1b behind Price if he is signed to be 1a. Arieta will be lucky to get $8 million this year in arbitration.

ATL & you can say SD tried to go big but ATL started shedding those contracts when they realized they weren't making them any better and SD was rumored to be shopping Shields & at least Upton at the deadline but found no takers. So there is caution to take indeed but getting back to my point. Last off season was just the start for CHC's spending spree. Yes, this year they had a lot of young, cheap talent but only a couple of their key contributors (Bryant, Schwarber & Castro) are home grown but they are going to spend big (not just on Price) this off season to improve their lineup. Whereas we are toiling in small market hell and with have to hope the FA scraps we have a shot at can get us over .500.

I am rooting for KC, they are just like CHC in that they are due but KC won't be spending big this off season, in fact they will most likely lose Cueto without getting anything for him because he was acquired mid season.
