Just looked at the stats from that one, Sean Kilpatrick with one of the more bizarre lines I've ever seen: 3-5 fg, 16-17 ft, 23 points. Umm... so... he basically got fouled every time he looked at the hoop? I gotta wonder if that is the fewest field goal attempts in a game where a guy scored over 20.

It is unusual. He was flying completely below my radar.

The NBA is open to ideas about fixing the annual buyout market that pops up after the trade deadline at the end of February. I hope something gets done to fix things regarding the annual buyout of vets at the end of February. I like the idea of moving the date before the trade deadline because nowadays players like Deron Williams and Andrew Bogut weren't getting traded because teams knew they'd be bought out and available for cheap after the trade deadline. The way the buyout system works now just gives the contenders that much more and widens the gap between the haves and have nots. A little over a decade ago this wasn't really heard of. Players stuck out their contracts, bad team or not.

I like the idea of a buyout wire that would operate like a waiver wire where other teams would have a chance to sign players that otherwise would go to the mega teams. Also having the buyout date on or before the trade deadline is a good idea as well. These ideas and others might end this madness of the rich getting richer. The NBA definitely needs to address this issue..

It's amazing how much better WCS has played since the trade of Cousins.

Did anyone notice that today LaMarcus Aldridge was out indefinitely with an abnormal heartbeat?

Yes, I read it and meant to post it but I got sidetracked.

Here is more.

"All parties have concluded that at the current time it is best for Aldridge to refrain from play until further tests and examinations are completed," the Spurs said in a statement.

Aldridge missed the final seven games of his rookie season after doctors used an ablation - a procedure designed to treat tissue in the heart to make the heartbeat regular again - to treat him and get him back on the court. He also needed an ablation during training camp in 2011, but was able to return to the court in time to play in the preseason and made the All-Star team for Portland that season.

A couple of college games worth watching tonight (3-11-17) although it conflicts with the Suns game.

I may have to do some channel flipping.

Duke players
: Jayson Tatum, Harry Giles, Luke Kennard; Grayson Allen Notre Dame: V.J. Beachem

----------------------------------------------------------------

Pac-12 championship – Oregon vs. Arizona, 9 p.m., ESPN

Arizona Players:

^^Use a DVR Mainstreet, that's why the basketball gods invented them in the first place! That way you can still watch Duke, the Suns and still finish up watching Marshall vs Tennessee State followed by the Big Sky Championship, the Wac Championship, the Southland Championship not to mention the Big West big game with surprise finalist UC Davis. I better stop there, I feel a Bill Walton moment coming on about what a great world we live in!

I refuse to buy one through DirecTV because it extends my contract. If you have a suggestion for a retail device, I would welcome your advice. At your convenience (perhaps tomorrow or after the games) I would welcome a private message on the one you like. Thanks.

So, New Orleans picked up another win tonight in the Cousins era. I wonder if he's happy? DeMarcus didn't play the last 9 plus minutes of regulation or in OT either.

I was going to PM you but I really don't have enough knowledge on this to make it worth your while so maybe someone can chime in if they know something specific about the available choices.

I have a personal preference for TiVo but TiVo isn't compatible with every system. From my perspective, TiVo has always been clearly the best followed by a tossup between Dish and Directv and then it's pretty much anyone's guess from there on out. But I don't have a lot of experience with the various cable systems and the DVRs they use so I might be using dated information.

I guess since you're unwilling to get a DIRECTV DVR (the Genie is pretty good) you might be thinking about switching services? If so, Dish might be your best bet and you'll have no problem getting a Hopper from them when you sign up.

The only thing you lose with Dish (IMO) is access to the NFL package but for some of us that's a small price to pay to get back the Pac 12 games. I don't know if the Cards are available OTA for you but I buy the NFL game pass and just watch them a day late on the internet. But whichever way you go, a good DVR is almost a necessity for a sports fan.

If you have an X-Box One that has a DVR set-up, if you run your Cable/Satellite through it and then to your TV. It's a Microsoft sort of set-up so it's not on Playstation. Of course that's an expensive option if you're looking to just use it as a DVR.

You might want to contact DirecTV and see if there is a way to get one without extending your contract. I have Dish Network and I've managed to change devices without needing a change in my contract.

I appreciate the feedback. I have DirecTV but if I got a DVR through them I would be bound by another contract for two years. Right now I am a free agent. I will check out Tivo.

I don't use X-Box so I would be purchasing it solely for a DVR. I was hoping there was a DVR device at a retail store where I can purchase it without involving DirecTV. Things are going well except I can't record anything.

If I could buy VHS tapes reasonably I would probably go back to the old technology. I wish there was a way to record to DVD. Thanks for the feedback.

Yes. Scary and sad. The condition he allegedly had addressed, Wolff-Parkinson-White, is potentially quite dangerous. Some estimates are that it's responsible for as many as half of all male athletes who mysteriously drop dead. (It's more common in males.) What's supposed to happen after it's diagnosed is that a procedure called an "ablation" disables the part of the heart muscle that is malfunctioning. The fact that it apparently didn't in his case is a major bummer.

Its mind boggling how much worse Alvin Gentry has made the Pelicans since taking over as HC.

You must be registered for see images attach

Looks like Monty Williams was a somewhat underrated coach as well.

Alvin Gentry did not make them lose Ryan Anderson, Eric Gordon etc.

The Pelicans have very little talent besides their 2 stars.
