Report: David Griffin wanted to make front office changes to take Knicks job
David Griffin decided to not take the Knicks job despite the two sides negotiating a contract. The former Cavaliers general manager was considered the favorite to take over as New York's GM, but reports are that current GM Steve Mills made a power play.

According to the New York Daily News, Mills wants to be the president of basketball operations and Griffin reportedly wanted to bring in his own staff. This would include the removal of current assistant GM Allan Houston, so Griffin's decision could be related to Mills' influence.

All these updates really point out one indisputable fact: I seriously don't know as many players in this league anymore. I remember a day when I at least would recognize the names of virtually every player on rosters. Not anymore.

Lakers get KCP for 1 year at $18 million. Gives them a good young player for this year while preserving their cap space for next offseason.

I still think they will struggle in a load Western conference, but KCP and Lopez at least give them a competitive chance, and there is no downside for them given that they don't own this year's lottery pick. Also, KCP is a Rich Paul client, which fuels the LeBron to Lakers speculation even more...

Yup - and for me, a large part of that came from watching a lot of college hoops.

For opening day rosters 2016, 20% of NBA players never even played one-year of college ball (Foreigners who didn't go to US colleges, straight out of HS players, etc).

Would be interesting to see how many of the 80% were one and doners.
