I understand Cleveland making roster tweaks going into the playoffs. What I don't understand is teams that are out of the playoff picture adding players at this stage. It must be salary cap related. That's all I can think.

More perspective on what Heat achieved, per Elias: Before Heat, no NBA team climbed back to .500 from more than 12 under.Heat did it from 19!

That is impressive. However, I'm not sure it's more impressive than the 1996-97 Suns, who started the season 0-13, had an 11-game winning streak later the same year, and finished 40-42 to grab the 7th playoff seed.

I don't know... I feel like 0-13 happened so early in the season, that you can talk yourself into hope AND that team made a MASSIVE change during the season when they traded for Kidd who changed the team dramatically. The Heat were 19 games under much further into the season where they could have just given up, didn't have a massive trade to change the team and then just did it all on their own. I think that tilts the scales toward them in this case.

that said, what we did was pretty damn impressive. I still can't believe we didn't win that Game 4 to end the Seattle series after Chapman put the game into OT with that ridiculous over the shoulder 3. Only the Suns could lose a game like that after a miracle play like that... especially one to end a series.

Baahahaha the entertainment continues. Does this mean Melo is a goner?
Maybe a team with no hopes will pick up both Melo and Bledsoe in hopes that one of them can make an All Star game. It must be clear to Bledsoe that he is not even the best choice on his own team.

What would you be willing to trade if Porzingis became available?

I don't think I'd leave anything off the table, including the top pick this year...

Booker being the exception of course...

Agree largely - would Bledsoe, Booker and Porzingis be the three all-stars McD always talks about? It wouldn't be too far off, but again the questions around Bledsoe's ability to harness others and generate wins remain.

That being said, I think I pull the trigger - our (top 3) pick + Bender? Or warren maybe..

Porzingis is a great young player, however I would still reluctantly trade this year's pick for him because this year's pick most probably will be also a great young player just two years younger and two more years under contract.

If the Knicks suddenly would change (loose) its mind, and would keep Anthony and put Porzingis on the market, I would offer Bledsoe, Warren, Bender + whatever additional assets for Porzingis, Noah.

ha the knicks would have to lose their mind, Porzingis should be untouchable.

Really I just don't think I think I'm comfortable with Bledsoe so I like your idea better if we can draft Ball or Fultz.

Too be honest, I think that might be too much. Not saying for sure, but Bender is a unicorn type player just like Zinger. If anyone has actually watched him, you know what I'm talking about. I don't feel comfortable including Warren in this deal.

I think you may be underrating Porzingis. Kid is 7'3 and won the Skills Challenge!

I've been a passionate defender of Bender, but Kristaps is already what I HOPE Bender could one day become, only two inches taller to boot! To get something of value, you have to give up value. If the Zinger was available for Bledsoe, Warren and Bender I would do it in a heartbeat!!!

I think you may be overrating Porzingis. He's a very nice player, but not much better numbers than Warren put up. Certainly not better numbers than Bledsoe. Since he's a fan favorite now though, there's no way of acquiring him without overpaying.

There's only one caveat in trading Bender - the Joe Johnson rule. A bit like the Brandon Knight rule where trading future picks leaves us all annoyingly hanging on for years to weigh up the merit of the trade, which is obviously not recommended, I'd be nervous about trading Bender having broken down his stats pre and post injury. No need to explain how we fleeced Boston for 'unknown goods' - if bender can shoot the 3 he's going to be GD dangerous.

(just don't remind me how Sarver subsequently fleeced us all by low-balling Johnson....Man that team should have won at least one title - Nash, Johnson, Matrix, Amare...:barf:)
