Adding a 27 year old All-Star is never a bad idea.

You can't just fill a roster with 19 year olds and expect them to just grow into champions.
There have to be some quality vets around to raise them to the next level.

It just doesn't fit the timeline of our rebuild, that's all there really is to it. I'm sick of losing as much as then next guy, but we were the 2nd worse team in the league last year and adding butler so we can be 1 and done as the 8 seed for the next 4 years doesn't help us

You are mostly correct but I think the Suns could have won 10 more games if they weren't in full tank mode. All the talking heads agreed at the end of the season saying the Suns had a bright future. Adding butler gets the Suns into the Thunder zone and they will only get better the next season as all the youngsters start reaching their potential.

Their ceiling still depends on what happens with Booker, Warren, Chriss and Bender.

Apparently New York wanted the #4 pick and Booker for Porzingas, I hope Phil Jackson was told to piss off. KP would be a great addition but that's too much. Booker should be the only untouchable piece the Suns have. If the right deal comes along though moving the #4, the Miami picks, Chriss, Warren, Bender, Bledsoe, or future picks of our own with some protection should be able to net us one of the players being shopped around.

Yeah, that trade is BS but in a fantasy world say you traded Booker and some future picks for KP and the #4 for Butler. That team wins 50+ games next season AND has lots of room to grow. KP and Butler are both excellent two way players. Chriss and Bledsoe are also.

well.. the roster is full of teenagers basically.. by the time they are ready to be a complete basketball team butler will be past the point of being the player he is today.. I can't believe I have to spell this out..

it's fine man, root for us to trade for butler. whatever.

Not a Suns fan but the counter would be if you have that many young guys, players like Butler might be very valuable. Guy that worked his way into being a star, not highly recruited, late first rounder that turned himself into a terrific player. There's only so much a group of young guys can do on their own and with coaches, having seasoned pros like Butler to learn from is helpful.

Sounds like he told the Cavs he'd rather stay in Chicago which tells me he doesn't really want to defer to LeBron and Kyrie.

Crossing fingers and toes they are picking Ball so Jackson and/or Fox is available at #4.

Jackson's surely going to be there; DraftExpress has him there, Boston have liked Tatum for a while, Jaylen Brown is a very similar player to Jackson apparently...

I don't like Bledsoe at all but Jackson is the one guy that could actually offset his deficiencies with some play making from the 3.

I'd be shocked if Westbrook was traded, especially to Boston in a deal that didn't send IT to OKC because I can't see them co-existing. That would definitely be the biggest move of the offseason and kickstart a number of moves across the league. It's not known if he's the MVP or not yet but that would be an odd situation where the MVP gets traded before he is even given his award.
