ESPN was saying this morning that the Cavs know they need more two way players if they are going to beat GS. They have too many players with defensive limitations. That would seem to mean Kyrie and KLove are on the block.

This also should be on the Sun radar. Our start player Booker is a one way player. We cannot afford to try to build with more of them. Jackson, Fox, Fultz, and even Ball are more like two-way players. Not sure about Tatum.

Tatum is offense-only so far, but there's nothing about his physical tools that should prevent him from being a good defender, so it will come down to his attitude. Same with Booker, really. One thing that concerns me about Booker is that he's awfully full of himself, and that may prevent him from reaching his maximum potential.

I see Booker as carrying confidence necessary for an alpha dog. But it doesn't come across as arrogance.

The line between confidence and arrogance is a thin one. I am not sure which side Booker is on or whether I like it or not.

I see Booker as being confident, not arrogant. From what I've seen of him off-court also he seems to be a guy with good character. In the short time he's been in the league he's done a lot of charity work, which speaks well to what sort of guy he is. I can't recall any other "superstar" player doing similar things so early in their careers. Like going to the draft with a special needs kid and also the PSA he did with and about his sister. Also when his dad was on the pregame show with Leander and Chambers it seemed like his parents were more concerned with raising Devin to be a good guy rather than a great basketball player.

Nobody is questioning Book being a nice guy off the court. My gripe is that he is acting as if though he is Larry Bird. Shut up and play. Talk smack when you make an All Star team and lead your team to playoffs at least. On the other hand, I like that a 19 or 20-year old has the balls to talk trash to future HOF players.

That doesn't bother me. If he keeps his "arrogance" on the court then it's manageable, in my opinion. I can't see him being that outspoken after another year or two of losing though, so I hope he takes his game to the next level to back up his trash talk or we get some help here for him because I'd hate to see him walk away because he's tired of losing.

And that's the key- be able to back it up. I love trash-talk, but you gotta be able to back it up.

With everything else happening we havent talked much about Jimmy Butler. Minny did great imo.

Butler for LaVine, Dunn, and Markkanen is a deal.

KAT, Wiggins, and Butler. Nice star core.

Wow, Denver really wants to be mediocre in the worst way.

I guess they are thinking Love next to JoKic would not be bad.

I do like the Nuggets acquisition of Trey Lyles for the future. IMO, he never got enough playing time with the Jazz.

I'm wondering if the Nuggets keep Mason Plumlee who they received for Nurkic. They even included a first round pick in the trade.

I'm glad we're not in a situation like the 76'ers. Embiid can be signed to an extension this summer and apparently they're making it a priority to sign him to one. He could make anywhere from $100 million for 4 years to $130 for 5 years. That's a ton of money to shell out for someone that's only played in 31 games over the last 3 seasons. If he signs a max deal that could effect the market value of all rookies looking for extensions. I wouldn't be surprised if he got a max deal but how many team options can be placed in a contract and how soon could they put a team option in? He could kill their cap space for years to come if he gets hurt again.

There are a few players who have missed their rookie season because of injury in the past but I can't recall a player missing multiple seasons because of injuries. Teams should be protected somehow, maybe changing the way rookie contracts work so if a player misses an entire season due to injury before they ever play in the NBA then the team is able to extend their rookie contract an extra season. That would make it so they can't become restricted free agents until they've played in 4 seasons rather than it just being 4 seasons from when they were drafted.

I didn't realize it had been that long since he was drafted. Good points. He's the one exception though.
