LA retains their pick? Was it top 3 or 2 protected.

SF Jaylen Brown
PF Marquese Chriss
PF/C Skal Labissiere
PG/SG Jamal Murray

This is what it comes down to. Kriss Dunn and Buddy Hield are too old to pick at #4 plus our backcourt is crowded.

Jaylen Brown would be hard to pass on if he is projected as a SF. He might be the best player available. I have started to worry some about the foot speed of Jamal Murray.

The Nets finished with the 3rd worst record and Suns the 4th. The lotto went in order.

There were 1001 different combinations possible. Each of the three top teams had one number pulled for their spot. Boston had 156 combinations, the Suns 119. One of those 156 combinations was pulled for the #3 pick. There is no way of knowing whether it was one of the 37 extra that Boston had over the Suns or not.

It does not matter. I do not think there is any real value difference between the 3rd and 4th pick in this draft.

You would pick Labissiere at #4? I thought he's supposed to drop big time.

Did anyone else get this email?

"The Suns have the #4 and #13 pick in the upcoming draft. Be a part of our "Bright Future" and reserve your season tickets now.

All you can do is laugh.

From all I read and heard he is rising, not dropping.

Draftexpress has Labissiere at #8 and Chriss at #11

Chriss will only rise. He measured in at 6'10 with a solid 7'0 1/2 wingspan and 38"5 vertical leap. Those numbers are very comparable to Amare Stoudemire.

If the Suns could not land the #1 or #2 pick in the draft, I was hoping the Suns would get the #3 pick. It would be an excellent position to trade down a bit, still get the player the Suns want (?) and pick up another first round draft pick for the future. Otherwise I agree, the #3 and #4 pick might have the same value.

He is 6'7 223lbs 5% body fat with an almost 7' wingspan. He will be a SF.

He already weights more than 6'11 Brice Johnson.

IMO Chriss is a major reach at number 4.

I tend to agree, however, if slinslin is correct (the Amare comparison), it is never to early to draft the player you want.

The more I've read about him lately, the more I like him. He might even be able to play some PF in a small ball lineup.

DX has Labissiere #8, Chriss #11
Ford has Chriss #8, Labissiere #11
.net has Chriss #10, Labissier #13

And workouts have not even started. Nobody thought Russell Westbrook would go #4 until draft night.

It is too early to claim that someone who is mocked -5 spots is a reach at #4.

Sure in a perfect scenario the Suns would get

#4 Brown
#13 Chriss or Labissiere or Davis
#28 Maker
#34 Backup PG or Stash

But it seems more likely that neither Chriss, Davis or Labissiere will be there at #13 and that Maker won't make it to #28.

I agree you can't count on the board falling that way.

You have to draft BPA unless the talent is equal, then you take the big man.

There are other candidates later like Ellenson, if the Suns draft Brown although not likely the same value. The Suns might be wise to seek a trade for a big man at #13 if another team is willing to deal the right player.

If the Suns come out of this draft with Jaylen Brown and Thon Maker plus one of the top4 Power Forwards I will be very happy.

Brown and Maker are two intelligent athletic high character kids with motor and work ethic.

Brown/Chriss/Maker please

My biggest worry with Chriss is maturity. Getting Brown and Maker in the same year would hopefully rub off on him.

I like it for now awaiting team workouts for the Suns.

That might be most depressing "perfect scenario" I've ever seen.

In a good class we'd be drafting something like Ingram at 4, Brown at 13, Skal at 28, Maker in the 2nd round and we'd be adding Gary Payton JR to our summer league roster. What a horrible year to get 3 first round picks, 2 of them in the lottery.

I'm hoping it proves better for the Suns than the 2014 draft when they had three picks. However, the jury is still out on TJ Warren and Bogdan Bogdanovic.

We get caught up in mocks and it's easy to think that the mock drafts communicate real value. You have to trust your own talent evaluation and your own board. If they really think Chriss is the 4th best player in this draft. They should take him.

There is so much unknown at this point. Team evaluations and trades can change things in a hurry. The draft board is basically an outline of what can happen. It will change nearer the draft except possibly the top two picks.

Ain't that the truth. Mock drafts are just fan opinions. And speaking of fan opinions - I don't know about the rest of you but I just assume I'm using time-delayed invisible ink and 5 years from now there will be no evidence that I liked so and so and mocked the skills of some other guy.

There's no doubt our luck is terrible. We have our highest picks in two years where the drafts are considered exceptionally weak. And multiple picks in those drafts. Sucks.

This draft won't be that bad. There are several guys who will have long and successful NBA careers. My favorite player in this draft is going to be a better David Lee and that is Sabonis.

The big thing about so many freshmen is that you may not know what you really have. Just look at Devin Booker.
