This is dumb, why did they sign him to that huge extension THIS YEAR if they didn't want to be saddled with his contract? They should have dealt him before extending him, they could have gotten a great package from teams arming up for the playoffs.
The contract was signed 3 years ago and the team changed ownership at the end of this season.
It bought out his arbitration eligible seasons at a decent price and is now getting to the expensive bits
The Marlins aren't known for consistent decisions or smart decisions.
As a Marlins fan this frustrates me. As someone who wants to see the DBacks do well, I don't want to see him in SF.
