The Stepien has moved Ayton way down.

Tier 1. Doncic
Tier 2. Trae Young
Tier 3. Jackson, Porter, Ayton (in that order)
Tier 4. Bagley, Bridges, Bamba (in that order) with more following.

Yikes.

Yikes is right but I hope that's the final order since we're more likely drafting 4-8 than 1-3. Not that I follow college ball enough to know much but from watching a few highlights and listening to you guys talk, my wish list is (in order) Ayton, Bamba, Jackson, Bagley.

I'm happy with our backcourt and wings but we need talent up front... I'm all for taking flyers on more bigs with our lesser picks and hoping for a lucky hit.

Ok. Say we have the 8th pick and we have Bagley and Carter in the board. Which do you take?

It’s a tough choice for me but I think I might take Carter. There is not one weakness in that guy’s game.

Bagley. Upside. Let’s not forget just how young he is. He’s not just a freshman but he reclassified up a class.

OK. You have to choose one of these two:

Wendell Carter or Jaren Jackson Jr.

Keep in mind that Carter is bigger, stronger, rebounds better, shoots better from the 2, shoots better from the three, scores more, and gets double the assists.

Jackson gets one more block per game and shoots slightly better from the line. Carter has a 7-3 wingspan, Jackson 7-4.

I kinda sound like a Chevy commercial.

So, I've only seen each of them play a handful of times, but JJJ looks more intriguing to me. He appears to move much better, and generally just more athletic in every way. He also appears to play defense and is able to stay in front of smaller guys. His shooting is a bit strange, but in three or four games I watched, his shot was falling. That said, Carter doesn't make many mistakes. At least in the games that I watched, he appeared to be a very smart player. I'd take JJJ due to his versatility and defense.
Again, my sample is rather small- I want to say I've seen five and four games for them respectively, so my impressions could be off.

It appears there is the growing consensus Ayton is the safe pick at #1.

Most of us have thought this for a long time.

I have seen them even less, but I guess that's a correct evaluation.

Jackson seems a longer version of Chriss with more basketball IQ which sounds quite promising.

Carter's ceiling is probably lower, but he looks like a very well-rounded future pro.

Pretty much how I see it.

Also a better and more fluid 3 point shooter than Chriss IMO.

Cross between Bender and Chriss might be a good comparison.
To me JJJ shoots his 3s more like a guard than a big man. Chriss looks pretty mechanical from three and Bender is much smoother, but still more or less looks like a big man when he shoots. Not sure it really makes much of a difference, but it's just something that I notice when I watch these guys shoot.

Why is JJJ playing 22 mpg when he's got the best +/- in CBB?

Perhaps his +/- is the best because he's playing in limited minutes compared to other top players. I don't think his +/- should determine his playing time but only playing 22 minutes a game is enough to raise concern.

He plays so little minutes because he fouls a lot. Though he may foul a lot because they want him being very aggressive for about 22 minutes per game.

With McDonough talking about the Miami and Milwaukee picks as trade assets, potentially to move up, it's time to consider some of the guys in the 8-12 range. My favorite is a player who at first feels like a bad fit (given that our three best player/prospects are wings) but who brings everything a winning team needs:

I would be ecstatic if we ended up with him by combining the two later picks. He would be a perfect fit.

I'm hearing a lot from other boards about how Doncic would increase our visibility overseas. Is that really a concern at this point? We've been drafting Euros for a long time, and so far, I haven't seen any advantage around the world for having Alex Len and Dragan Bender on the team.

Len and Bender are not comparable to Doncic. Doncic is being touted as possibly the best euro prospect ever and is already a very good player in Euroleague. Neither Bender or Len can are even close to making either of those claims.

Let's hope not. The Suns' concern should be trying to bring the franchise back to credibility for its basketball product, not its pandering to small overseas markets.

if it is, this FO is completely moronic.
