Sources: Mets are motivated to trade Noah Syndergaard with GM Brodie Van Wagenen initiating talks w/multiple clubs. Expectation is he will be traded this winter, FA SP will be signed to fill his spot. deGrom is off limits w/NYM hoping for extension. BVW used to be agent for both.

Why would they trade him and then add cano and a closer? Why even add a premium closer if you give up your best starting pitcher?

Maybe they are selling high in order to get a premium package, maybe a younger top minor league prospect with ace potential who is MLB ready now?

The #Mets say they expect Noah Syndergaard to stay with the team. They'd have to get pieces back to fill holes in their lineup in 2019 to even consider a trade. They will not trade him strictly for prospects.

Patrick Corbin will receive a 6-year contract worth at least $125 million, several executives with knowledge of his pursuit believe. The unknown is whether Corbin would take a discount to join his hometown #Yankees. Decision is expected this week.

That’s nuts. Two seasons over 3 WAR and he’s getting paid like he has the track record of an ace. Got to give him credit for having his best season at the perfect time.

There are still a lot of SP options available: Syndergaard, Bumgarder, Kluber, Bauer & Kuechel. Greinke is going to be a fall back option but ARZ will need to kick in cash to get teams to bite in my opinion.
