The police officer who arrested him said besides being drunk he acted like he was high on something like cocaine. Nice way to start out your nfl career but after reading the article he will fit right in with the other convicts in the NFL.

I was elated when Rosen and Kirk were the first two picks. I still LOVE the Rosen pick.On Kirk I am not so sure now. In the rookies photo, the guy looked small and now this. The Cardinal fan life. Argh

And destroying someone’s property that they paid for with money that they likely worked hard for. You also ruined that individuals day when they come to find their property destroyed. Don’t dismiss this as drunk and stupid. That’s a lame cop out. What if it were YOUR car? Would you just say, “ah well, drunk and stupid.” I sure as hell wouldn’t.

This might be a one-time incident, but to me it’s a grave warning. This occurred in February. When he was supposed to be on his best behavior before being drafted. And he was this stupid and hanging with idiots.

I was excited for this kid when we drafted him. Now his character is painted with his own brush until he consistently proves otherwise by his actions.

Consistently? It was one incident Guessing you've never been to the drunken Waste Management. A rock at an unattended vehicle? Yeah, throw him to the curb. Put him away for life. IMHO you are overreacting.

A lot of you nuns said the same crap about Terrell Suggs who literally laid a crowbar upside someone's head.

If he's a butthead, he'll be out of the league real quick. I guess he goes the Suggs route, and only the die hards remember this story five years from now.

I could be wrong. I don't personally know the kid.

Here's all I got on the situation. He was with this guy Carter McCar***, who is known to be an immature douche when drinking.

Odds are it was Carter and/or other people. Doubtful it was Kirk, but never know. Overall it seems it was just one of those guilt by association situations.

Did I say throw him to the curb? Nope. You’re putting words in my mouth. I’m saying he has painted his persona. Sometimes it can take a single incident to do so. But to undo that painting one has to consistently prove character to the opposite.

And I have been to the Open. Many times. When I was much younger too when we could get REALLY wasted. And - SHOCKING - I never threw a rock at anyone’s (much less apparently multiple people’s) vehicles. How could that happen?!? And I never destroyed anyone’s property. What?!? That’s crazy! How did I do that?!?

Your giving his criminal behavior a pass is lame. Kinda makes me wish the rocks his friends throw break the window on your car - see if you sing the same song.

(Note - I actually don’t wish damage to your, or anyone else’s, property - but man it probably felt bad to see me even type that, right? Imagine your anger if it actually happened).

A rock to my window would not rock my world. It is not that big of deal. I have glass coverage with zero deductible. I have had worse happen to me without going to crazy mode. You need to lighten up. I don't need a crying room. A rock to my window, yeah, I could get over it, sorry you can't. You are blowing this way out of proportion. I can handle it, sorry you can't.

At that age when drunk, I don't think most men think that far ahead. At my age I completely agree but this kid is like 21

Being drunk is no excuse. In fact, that's just another poor choice made by Kirk just before the NFL draft. It's okay to call an idiot and idiot. What he did was beyond stupid.

Sure,

I still think they don't think about "I am damaging sometimes property". And simply act. He got busted, I bet never happens again. I did lots of dumb stuff in my youth and didn't turn into some type of disappointment

That's terrific. You've got great coverage. But if there was criminal damage wouldn't you want those responsible to be charged? Actions have consequences.

Seriously, if he threw that rock with sober intent and then stole something, then we have a real potential problem in my opinion because most of these college athletes all have to curb their stupidity once they enter society and get their real job. He was drunk and acted stupid or was with others equally drunk and they threw the rock, still making it wrong but unfortunately the norm for a good enough percentage of the collegiate football players

I am not condoning this but geez, I have seen and heard worst stuff at almost every college I attended by athletes. Kirk attended Texas A&M and one can only look at Johnny Manziel on what goes on at a college program at different degrees. I am not singling out A&M either, because I attended the University of Texas and know equally ******** behavior by college athletes there. If you knew of all the crap which non high profile guys did, you would see the unfortunate truth. Fights, alcohol abuse, and other stuff you could script for a freaking pirate BMovie. If everything was known to the public on what half these guys do regarding this moronic immature behavior, or rather a lack of accountability, a lot which gets swept under the rug and never even prosecuted by the law in college towns, most here would be very limited on draft day. Maybe it's not as bad outside of the South but here in Texas football is almost a religion and some of these guys act like they go to school at Valhalla and playing football makes them a minor deity

I shake my head at this behavior and in my twenties as a student still reacted equally in 'what the hell' response to these antics, but do not make like this is some unique circumstance which makes Kirk the lone problem child, and children in a grown man's body is accurate for some of these players where being a college star stunts their personal growth by way of a violent contact sport which allots them adoration. Hell, I heard a few stories similar when getting my Masters at The University of Houston while living in the dorms with the college athletes during your average semester... a lot of us where made aware of the reality of life early on entering college and naturally grow up with common sense and did not have any fantasy about arrogant exemptions having star status, some of these guys do not

Stupid thing to do, and with the attitude this young man has, it is a bit of a concern, just a bit.

As for the act?

Meh, Just sue him for as much money as you can for the damage to the car, and leave it at that.

I learned a long time ago, there is nothing, NOTHING, you can do to a man, that hurts him like taking his time, and money. I have grown up in this overly litigious society, and have realized it is not going away anytime soon, so I might as well use it.

Mr. Kirk would be paying me some of that signing bonus for that act, and then its over.

He's got money now. Take his time. Pile on some community service.
